Honestly I don't think, goalscoring aside, he's better than Saliba let alone the world.

Love big Gabs but still prone to mistakes and I think his aggresive style of defence really only works with someone like Saliba next to him.

Turned into a top, top player though no doubt about it, not many I'd swap him for!

Defending isn't an individual skill, and it is all about partnerships and units. I don't think there is a better matched pairing in the world than Saliba and Gabriel, while Timber is the best defensive right back going. Calafiori has been very good too, in his "free-role" from left back. And the contributions of Zubimendi, Rice and Raya have to be mentioned, as well as the "defending from the front" players.

Is Gabriel the best CB in the world? Probably not. Is he a key part of the best defence in the world? Yes.

He’s right up there. So happy for him, he’s improved a lot from his first season. He’s got it all, a bit like Ramos without being as good on the ball.
It doesn’t matter if he is the best or not, the fact is Arsenal have the best defence and even guys like Kash and Boris can’t deny that as much as it burns them.

Not really true either. Arsenal play with a high line, and the full back on his side is given the freedom to float around the pitch further exposing him. If anything he is the least protected CB around.

He is our best defender and in the top 3 in the league with vvd and saliba.

Up there for sure, superb player and his attacking threat is an unbelievable quality to have
