Good post and agree fully. He's doing very well with the resources he has. The crowd really need to up their game. I was teasing my liverpool nephews about their famous atmosphere and then we all watched our Villa game. We scored after 5 minutes, were controlling the game well, had a chance to go 2nd and the place was silent. Embarrassing.
Nice balanced piece GG.
Spurs fans need to recognise that bringing in new players (let alone a new coach) will take time to settle and the Champions are the clearest example of this. £0.25bn on 2 players and neither have clicked yet. Kerkez was absolutely standout last season and looks very shaky this season. No one questioned Liverpool's signings in the summer, they will come good but it takes time....as will ours.
Add a new coach and a raft of issues to address from the Ange legacy and I think most should see that this is not an over night fix to becoming a beautiful and winning team.
It is difficult to envisage what a Frank team, purring in top form would look like, how attractive will it be? but surely we can expect greater levels of attacking, control and entertainment as we continue to evolve, get players back and gel as a unit.
Watching yesterdays game, 2nd half we were up against it and my natural instincts were "we're going to concede and then Everton will have the momentum", because that's what we do and have always done, but it was again refreshing to see us defend really very well, limit the home team to a couple chances and see them off, and pick up a 3rd for good measure (another headed goal but at least not a set piece).
May be Spurs being able to do what we were asking Ange to do last season, and be more secure when we had to, is the new norm. I think its fair we give plenty more time to see if we can be a bit more Ange in terms of attacking intent, to complement the Frank solid base.
Didn't Oderbert come from Burnley. I know up 't north is different, but not that different
Not going to lie we as boring as hell to watch. Hopefully that improves along with our home form.
Winning at City, West Ham, Everton and Leeds is not too shabby at all
In fact I’d confidently say we’ve never won at those grounds in the same season ……could be wrong but it’s quite impressive nevertheless
Arsenal up next away from home….!

All the excuses.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Indeed. There is no excuse for being third, being the leagues top scorers, the 2nd best defence and GD. Franks had a whole pre-season a transfer window and now a dozen games.
He's on borrowed time unless he starts to entertain us like Ange did
I see the usual doom mongers are here again. Whilst I want more exciting and entertaining football, we need to remember we are starting from a position of almost catastrophic levels and if we hadn’t won the Europa League would have been our worst season for decades and decades.
Although not his biggest fan I would like to see what TF can do over the next two seasons.
There is one thing I would change though, does he not realise how awful he looks chewing gum incessantly with an open mouth🤬
Only see Upside... sitting 3rd in the league, defense looks solid, set pieces have been massively improved at both ends and what's been a bit clunky in terms of attacking play will only improve with the return of Solanke, Kulu & Madders. Young players continue to improve and Kolo and Xavi will get better and adjust to the league over time.
Spurs are in a great position to improve and build from in a way we never were under Ange.
We now have a much better manager and he's proving his worth with better resources & players
Lest we forget how we won that trophy....by being a boring defensive team which basically conceded possession and defended the whole 2nd half.
Franks teams are not historically boring to watch. But i do think that he needs to make an adjustment in his own head, he may be a bit 'institutionalised' about being the underdog.
That said, with the form, fitness and experience of some of our attacking options we are always ging to struggle to be a cohesive attacking unit and impose ourselves right now. But it does have to improve and we should expect it to, in time.
Heard a surprising stat today, that VDV had only 1 career headed goal before yesterday.
That's why TF was pointing at VDVs head at the end. Its something they've been working on, offensively and defensively.
Good to know all the little details are being looked at and worked on
