I thought Mount would be top of your list, VC? Coming around the Big Mase?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I forgot about him.
So, in fairness he has not been as horrible as he usually is. Keep him fit and he can rotate with our new boys up front.
I do prefer our front three from the Brighton game though.

On this day a year ago, Diogo Dalot missed this chance against West Ham. It ended up being Erik ten Hag’s last game in charge.

This should’ve been his last game but the cuuuunt is still a regular for us one year on.

That game was so typical of us since ETH was first appointed and since Ruben took over. We had so many chances in that first half to have killed off the game. We didn't and it has been a common theme ever since.
And anyone trying to convince me that Dalot is a better attacking option than AWB, who was hopeless himself, is never going to convince me no matter what stats they put up.

Generally agree with the OP.
Mainoo is a great talent and I am in favour of keeping him in the squad. He was at risk of being overplayed at a young age, so think there is benefit in his current squad position and learning his trade more of more experienced players. That said, I'm not sure where he fits in with this system.
Dorgu adds some much needed physicality in the team and has the legs for playing WB. Though his end product is suspect to say the least. Hopefully he improves as time goes on, but that's not a given as Dalot/AWB did not improve after 5 years.
Dalot is generally useless, and has several brain farts/dozy moments in a match. He plays because he appears to be a model pro off the pitch, whether we like it or not. I remember he used to play a great cross when he first joined years ago, that was quickly coached out of him.
WB in general needs an overhaul in the summer window, along with our central midfield. That probably means we should tie down Maguire for another year on a lower wage, which I can live with.

Arguably our greatest ever midfielder was behind Nicky Butt at Mainoo's age so Kobbie does have time on his side. He needs to be patient IMO. I reckon he's only played as many games as he has because our recent options there haven't been that good. If he's good enough he will break through again.
Dorgu has all the physical attributes to play the role. Perhaps in an ideal world he'd be a squad option but I'd like to see him in this side now as it's more confident it seems. It can't be easy coming in mid season to a struggling team.
I quite like Dalot but he has been poor this season though IMO. Perhaps again, in an ideal world, he's a squad option rather than a starter.
A lot to be positive about though. It seems we've finally started to score which is a massive help (obviously!) and also means our defence isn't as under as much pressure.
There's no reason why we can't finish top five this season and get back into the CL. That should be the aim

Exactly. Arsenal and City will be top 5. Liverpool also probably have too much quality not to sort it out but it’s all the play for in other 2 top 5 spots imo.

I like Amorim and want him to take us forward but he really piiised me off with the subs on Saturday we were in total control and the only team going to score again then crash bang subs immediate error and the night terrors set in again, we only have one game a week just let the lads on the pitch see it out.
Liking what I am seeming these past weeks and our league position is better than most of us dreamed after a tough run of fixtures, still need some convincing it’s not fragile but feeling overall positive.

I’d cut him some slack there. How else would are the like s of Zirkzee, Mainoo and Heaven meant to get game time?
If you can’t give players a run out for 20-25 mins when you’re up 3-0 at home, when can you?

Agree, Process. Also you need to manage workload (especially with the high intensity football he demands) if you don't want players burnt out / epidemic of fatigue based injuries in the second half of the season.

I still don't understand why we didn't sign a ready made wingback instead of Dorgu. By the time he grows into the role (if he does) the manager will probably be gone and we'll be back to a back 4.
