Blues 2 -0 Leicester

Hughton must of tweaked the replacement referee which probably explains why it took him so long to stroll out onto the pitch for the restart.

Beausejour should have been carded for his second half tackle on Peltier and that would have evened things up and made the second half more of a contest.

You were a very poor side in the first half and it was the four key decisions going your way in the second half that provided you with the points today not your performance.

No doubt you will reply with something containing the phrase "sour grapes" but at this level an away side can't expect to see anything out of a game when the referee presents such a one sided view of a half as we witnessed today.

What did the ref get wrong? It was a penalty, beau didn't deserve yellow for his tackle, mills tackle was dangerous high and a definite red and your player played for a pen and it rightly was not given

Well done brum, glad you stuffed them bin-robbing pesky fuxers.

Beau did deserve a yellow and it was the referees call, the linesman could not see the incident as Peltier was past his man - the referee bottled it simples.

I do not disagree with the red card and was too far away to pass comment on the Blues penalty but my point would be that he had an opportunity to even things up at the other end when King was clearly brought down and bottled it again.

Like I said in my earlier post this is not sour grapes, I watch enough football home and away to pass judgement that most referees at this level clearly favour the home side and that works for us at home as well at times.

Big result today. So glad we managed to win that. There's no doubt the sending off had a massive impact on the game but Leicester had two shots on target all game. They tested Myhill once. All they were doing was playing the ball over the top for nugent to chase but most just went straight out for a GK.
Think we were poor in the middle again. Gomis needs a new pair of boots because he spends most the game on his back side. Fahey had a few loose balls but the second half was so much better. We came out quicker than Leicester and deserved the lead. Your defender making a stupid tackle was a bonus and he deserved the red. I think we sat back a bit to much after taking the lead but it was a great counter attack and a cool finish by Wood to get the second.
It's easy to say all the decisions went our way but they were the right decisions. Well done lads.

King was never brought down. Just saw reply if that's a pen the refs would have to give about 10 a game. He just ran into Ridgewell. What's Ridgewell meant to do? Jump out the way? Should have been booked for diving if anything.

Yeah, yeah, Stevie.
Well instead of having a go at the Blues for taking their opportunities. why don't you have at go at your players that caused yours.
Leicester, for all your skill on the ball coudn't score, the Blues got awarded a penalty and scored, and got a goal on the break - 'cause you were pushing forward with a man down (it really was a nasty tackle).
Don't know about 'Sour grapes' it should be 'accepting the consequences of your actions'.

Fair enough lads, I can't expect to come on your board and get an agreement from you but mark my words what goes around comes around. I shall be watching the referees performance a little closer than normal when you visit us later on in the season to see whether justice will prevail.

Good luck to you in Belgium later on in the week and enjoy the beer!

We went a whole season in the championship a few years ago only getting one penalty. We're use to getting the rough end of it. Got to take it when the decisions go our way.

Well done you Bloooooooooos. Just a tiny bit Brahms, in Crete & obviously missed the match, but hey, seems great from here no matter how many ref's we got through. The Ouzo is helping my withdrawal symptoms.

From where I sat, in the living room at home. It was a penalty.
The ref could easily have given a red card being the last defender and all but chose not to give any colour.
The Mills tackle was awful and luckily he missed Gomis's standing leg or it might have snapped in two.
Beausejour was lucky not to get a second yellow and if the same ref was on he would have most likely walked. Super second goal by Wood.
Known on the beeb pointed out that Zigic was making his first appearance when he came on since the cup final. Sometimes its best to say nothing .
Stevie Synex. Don't sound like sour grapes but they're certainly not sweet either. You don't get penalties for jumping into opponents feet. Some you win some you lose.

Blues should be terrible with what was done to our club in the, summer. Leicester should have been great with what was done to theirs. But hey, that's football.

I think you make some fair points. I thought your 5 and 6 were excellent at the back and that you edged an even first half. Beausejour challenge was not malicious but I sit not far from there and I was glad to see your lad get up, looked like he might have been hurt bad. Beau was lucky not to get a red in the second half though.

Second half we came out a different team and thoroughly outplayed you. CH is a master of tactic tweaking.

Fester fans just stay in a continual parallel universe .... carping and whinging about the penalty and sending off - both totally correct decisions by the ref.

Best team won from what i witnessed. Season coming together nicely for the Blues i reckon. Games in hand should see you right in the mix.

Looking forward to my next visit - always a warm welcome !!!! lol

Stevie Synex - most ridiculous poster ever? It's very strange to imply that a team, namely Leicester, should get a penalty because an opposing team, in this case Birmingham, got one earlier on the game just to "even things up".

We won. Deservedly so, too. Deal with it.

It would be good if some statto could keep a track of fans complaints about penalties not given/given but shouldn't have been, sent off/not sent off etc and just see what the overall result would be.
Does anyone think it would even itself out or not?
Any takers other than p1ss ones?
