except the aussie tailenders are not normal tailenders, except lyon. that tactic would work a treat against lyon, but siddle and pattison are decent lower order batsmen, and against what is essentially full tosses and short balls might be able to hit a few off. as for hilfenhaus, he'll have a swing for a bit and then get out, regardless of how you bowl.

I see what your saying singh saab, but its not as clear cut as that anymore…... Whilst the 3 asian teams have poor tailenders (or typical tailenders), the other 3 teams have worked on theirs for years and are now reaping the rewards. England (even Andreson can now hold his own at the crease, swann, broad, bress) saffers to some extent (anyone see steryn on Sunday?) and the Aussies have all worked on this aspect.

Afridi14,

I understand where you are coming from, but when was the last time you saw a tail ender practising to hook the ball? Asian or otherwise?

NO ONE LIKES THE BALL ON THE NOSE, I REPEAT NO ONE.

true singh, but the better tail enders, asian or otherwise, know how to get out of the way or block it.

against tailenders just get it on the stumps, they'll miss it eventually, and if it's a decent length chances are they won't get many runs either.
