newWAYNEorder, the smiley looney (U1015)

Since when has a City fan, commenting on City's board been a prime example of attention seeking?

posted on 10/1/12

newWAYNEorder, do him a big smiley picture to show him what attention seeking is.

(sorry, couldn't resist)

He's a closet Blue but is afraid to admit it..or could be a glory hunter about to jump ship!!

Actually I spend majority of my time on the PREMIER LEAGUE board, where you'll find this thread as well.

But hey, why bother learning how this simple site works, many, many months into its existence

Maybe Sheikh Mansour has bought the Premier League board and the Most Recent comments section, meaning that technically we're all on the City board?

"So Boris, the refs have said this season, that a 2 footed challenge is a red. Kompany got a red card for a 2 footed challenge. Discuss."

So Sir Bobby, Lampard didn't he only got a yellow for a worse tackle, discuss

posted on 10/1/12

I think everyone can agree that Lampard should have been sent off.

"As much as you're trying to twist it, at the end of the day Rooney said he highlighted it was a 2 footed tackle. How many times does that need to be said until it gets through your head that that's all it'll ever be"

But the question is why did he feel the need to highlight it? The referee was nearer than Rooney and saw the incident , why did Rooney have to say anything, is he the club Captain?

I'm going out on a limb here but I think it might be to do with the fact that he's a human being.

When doesn't someone 'highlight' an incident, it happens every single game. Contrary to popular belief this wasn't the first time it's happened in a football match

Um, this Article is about Kompany's challenge, not anyone else's, anyone else's is irrelevant

Discuss Kompany's challenge, as the Article topic suggests

OK, Chris Foy's one but who is the other?

rooney only did what comes naturally in appealing to the ref for a 2 footed tackle. maybe that comes naturally to rooney & carrick and other utd players, but look at the cup semi final last year scholes sent off for a studs up tackle on Zabaletta How many city players were surrounding the ref arms waving in his face????

Ans = None and Zabaletta was injured. when Evans was sent off in the derby this season how many remonstrating with the ref. balotelli arms up claiming the free kick.

No one trying to get him sent off. Sort of says it all really.

Yes edin those 2 things go to show the difference between every United player, and every City player.

What that's got to do with Kompany rightly getting a straight red, a decision upheld by the FA, is anyone's guess.

But hey, kep mentioning OTHER events, one day someone might see that it is actually on topic for that thread

I cannot understand why rags have a problem with comparing Kompany's tackle with other recent similar tackles. Why is it off topic and why are you so afraid to discuss them? could it possibly be because they highlight the inconsistency being displayed by referees? Almost ever pundit on every football show on tv and columns in the press have done exactly the same, there have been 2 or 3 tackles in the last week that were far worse than VK 's and either got a yellow or nothing. Most pundits agree, they do not defend VK but they say if his tackle was a red then so were the others. It's a fair point and crying "off topic" or "irrelevant" is simply ignoring the facts to suit your argument. The article may be about VK's red card but to be discussed properly you have to acknowledge all the facts including the inconsistent ref decisions.

posted on 16/1/12

Yes there is glaring inconsistency.

Yes Kompany deserved a red under the rules of the game.

As did others that did not despite the laws of the game
