This makes it decent?

Nope, but it was brilliant to beat a magnificent club like Everton, it proved to be difficult unlike the last two times we have faced the 2nd Merseyside team

The last two times Chelsea have faced Liverpool didn't go well for you - pumped twice at home in just over a week

You do know Chelsea are shlt right now

Paisley

The last two times Chelsea have faced Liverpool in a league campaign it didn't go well for you - Finished 6 places above you in 09/10 and 5 places above you in 10/11

Am I allowed to post a generic five times comment?

Yes Paisley,, you are.

CFC fans having a go, behave. Liverpool popped down to landan, doing the cockney walk and OWNED them at their patch; right and proper as bow bells herself!!

1-2
0-2

Nice....last time at Anfield?? YEP..lost then as well. Now CFC are a measly 3 points above a poor Liverpool side (so we keep getting told) and have a defence that is getting worse by the week!!

I swear, give it 3 weeks and CFC will be in 5th or 6th...no more Bubba i guarantee he will disappear.

CFC wont win the champs league and have next to no chance of the league, so its the FA cup, fat chance with your defence. Liverpool are in a semi final and have the FA cup tie at Home; so a reasonable chance their.

bye...

Arsenal:

Swansea (A)
United (H)
Bolton (A)

Newcastle:

QPR (H)

Look forward

And I couldn't care less if your small club beats us twice a season, in the end finishing above you is all that counts

We will be playing CL football this season and next whilst you are in oblivion

"We will be playing CL football this season and next ..."

---------------

Roman's wallet may dig you out of a hole this month, but If no-one of note come in (and I don't include Cahill as notable), what do you base this confidence/arrogance on?

I would agree we are the outsiders in he race for 4th, but the way you completely dismiss our chances (ignoring the times you have changed your mind ) makes me smile.

We are still here bubbles, 3 points off 4th and 90 mins away from a cup final. We are getting stronger as Chelsea are becomming weaker.

The only realistic contenders for top 4 are Spurs, Chelsea and Arsenal with Newcastle being outsiders.

With Suarez out and the poor signings you have made your chances are limited.

We aren't getting weaker, if you take out the Villa and Wigan results in the last few games we have done okay, beaten Newcastle at SJP, beaten City, got a point at WHL, beaten Wolves away etc.

With Essien, Ivanovic, Sturridge to come back and Cahill and another signing (at least) on the way we will leave you in the dust.

We are becoming stronger whilst you are stagnating. Looking at your February fixtures it's looking like it will be a tough ask for you to keep up with Arsenal and us for 4th.

I look forward to seeing you battle with Newcastle for 6th whilst we are playing in the CL.

Good times

IMO this is where you will drop off and this is where I see the us, Arsenal and maybe Newcastle pulling away.

Spurs have no CL to distract them. They are playing on a different level to Chelsea, so to include them as your competitors is delusion. They are simply better than you, as are City and Utd.

Essien is rumoured to be in his 40's A great player in his day, but like a good few of your squad, his best days are behind him.

The battle for 4th will continue in earnest and nothing will be decided in February. The fact we have to play Chelsea and Arsenal at Anfield is a big plus. Unlike you I won't be making any bold/arrogant proclamations about who will finish 4th, but the fact that you believe that Chelsea are improving is funny, because by some miracle you finished 3rd, this would still be worse than last season.

That's a myth, Spurs have hit their peak, They were outplayed by us for the most part at WHL and have since scraped home wins against Sunderland, WBA and Everton. I would expect Spurs to beat those teams.

City are on a different level to everybody else (with a fully fit starting XI) but United and Spurs are not THAT much better than us as games against them alone have shown, we outplayed both of them away from home and should have won.

If Essien's best days are behind him then the same can be said of almost any of your players. He isn't what he was but then again nor was Giggs yet he readjusted to his newer role perfectly, Essien is good enough to do the same.

You say Spurs have no CL to distract them but as far as I remember all of the great sides in the PL era have been involved in the CL and gone far, talk to any player and they will tell you they'd rather play than train, sometimes the CL can offer respite as well as fatigue

United Treble winning side
Arsenal Double Winning Side
Chelsea Double Winning side

I believe we can finish anywhere from 2nd-5th. I am not certain of anything apart from the fact both us and Arsenal will finish above you.

To say I am deluded for not believing we can finish higher than the aforementioned teams is actually absurd considering Spurs are only 8 points ahead of us still having to play Chelsea, City, Liverpool, Arsenal away as well as United at home who they never beat and then resurgent teams away from home such as Sunderland and QPR under new management and then places like Everton and Villa which are never easy for any big team to go to

Liverpool IMO will challenge for 4th this season but they are not ready yet IMO, too many average players in that squad with the only quality being Gerrard, Lucas, Enrique, Reina, Agger, Bellamy and Suarez.

Cut your losses on Adam, Carroll and Downing. Sign a creative midfielder, a proper finisher and a proper winger and you'll easily be on par with most of the teams in the top 5

Spurs show no signs of going off the boil just yet and if you scrutinise their squad there is plenty of depth there.

It's very confusing of you to compare how Chelsea have played to against Utd and Spurs to back up what you believe, but completely overlook the two defeats Liverpool have inflicted on Chelsea, not forgetting the victories over City and Arsenal and the way we played in the draws against City and Utd.

You can't have it both ways and your argument becomes inconsistent and hypocritical by doing so.

As for Essien when you say - "then the same can be said of almost any of your players say ", who are you talking about exactly or are you just exaggerating again. Ryan Gigg's is the exception to the rule, any comparison is foolish. Essien was such a great player because of his pace, power and energy, not his technical gifts. There is also some debate about what he age actually is .

As I have said from the start of the season I have considered Liverpool the outsiders for 4th. However, if we are still in the running with 10 or so games to go, it will get very interesting indeed.

A defeat in the Mickey Mouse Cup doesn't mean anything. You judge teams on how they play in the league, end of.

City thumped you 3-0 in the league yet lost 1-0 to you in the CC.

You did well at HOME to City and United but I'd expect any team to compete at home, Spurs away you were thumped and that is where your lack of quality was really telling.

Giggs' game was based on his blistering pace and ability to beat his man, he lost that about 9/10 years ago and reformed his game. Scholes game was based on getting goals from midfield and playing behind the striker. Keane was a box to box midfielder. The great players can adjust themselves with age and Essien will do just that

Unlike Liverpool our problem hasn't been lack of goals. In fact only the Manchester Clubs have scored more goals than us and we have scored in every league game since the defeat to QPR. Liverpool have lacked goals because when you take Suarez, Gerrard and on current form Bellamy out of the equation, the quality just isn't there and Dalglish has to take responsibility for that.

You can bemoan the fact the goals aren't wide enough, keepers saving their best games for Anfield, referees hating Liverpool and being unlucky etc and all the other Scouse conspiracies that have come out but there comes a time where you can only believe it for so long. There is no such thing as coincidences in football IMO
