Would you have been succesful in the 70's and 80's without Littlewoods pumping money and leaching on the other clubs best players?
The Hypocrisy in this thread is baffling.

Chelsea fans have convinced themselves that Littlewoods made Liverpool successful.
Do you know how many players we bought on average per year.
And you're comparing this with your stranglehold of the market.
Now that more investment is in the game you're struggling.
sold for a QUID
Wish i had brought them , would be a tescos now

We had a better team in the late 60's before they Moores and co intervened.
Are you telling me you would have won as much as you did in those 2 decades without the Littlewoods investments?

£39m is still a lot just to avoid relegation.
You do realise Roman was about to take over Spurs before he changed his mind flying over The Bridge.
Would you have turned him down? said no don't spend money on us?
Course you wouldn't so stop being a hypocrite.
_____________________________________________________
So you quoting an inaccurate figure of £50m is okay? Actually, it was obviously £39m well spent & look where we are today?
And once again you try & turn a losing argument to your favour, I would have had no control if Abramovich had bought Spurs. However I would not have been very happy with it. However I would have continued supporting Spurs, but I would still hate how he acquired his money.
So how does this make me a hypocrite??? Have you actually looked up the definition of the word?
By the way, we actually are owned by a billionaire, however he prefers his companies to be run along professional business models.
How many defeats in a row it is at The Reebok now?

Yes, Liverpool didn't buy every player they could. They'd sometimes buy one, maybe two players a season (the norm for most teams)
As a matter of fact, if you did your research you'd see that Liverpools first team changed very little year on year -
Your point is ... well,

Its pretty easy to say that now but if Roman took Spurs over and took you to new heights would you say "no this isnt right" in the back of your mind would you say "yes i agree" when opposition fans come on your board and talk rubbish?
On a completely different sidenote however i have to love how we are called plastics yet fans like wearethefamous as good as say you have to have numerous trophiesto have a "history", cant make this up
Metro,
How many players have Liverpool bought in the last clanender year?
FAO METRO - here's a quote from the legendary Mr Shankly.....
'I had been at Anfield for about 18 months and things had improved a little but not enough,' said Shankly. 'I kept saying that we had to spend some money and they kept telling me that they didn't have any. Then Eric Sawyer joined the board. He was in the accountancy section of Littlewoods Pools and he was as sick as I was of seeing Liverpool struggle. He is the man that turned them around.
'I said at a board meeting that I had heard Ian St John was for sale. I knew that if we were going to get anywhere he was the kind of player we needed. Someone on the board said we couldn't afford to have him. Then Eric Sawyer spoke and said that we couldn't afford not to have him. That was music to my ears. That man, Mr Sawyer, was the real start of Liverpool. He told me that if I could find the players he would find the money.

So Liverpool got new investment and got st john...............................
Yes, we really did buy success
and
No, liverpool got new investment and bought Caroll, Henderson and Downing.................................
Now that should really make you laugh.
And once again you try & turn a losing argument to your favour, I would have had no control if Abramovich had bought Spurs. However I would not have been very happy with it. However I would have continued supporting Spurs, but I would still hate how he acquired his money.

To be honest, if this happened and Spurs started winning trophies year in, year out, I don't reckon you would be on board with where the money came from. Not a criticism of you, it's human nature. Regardless, I have no issues with Spurs challenging for the top, adds an extra dimension to the title race and they play good football. My issue is the arrogance of some of Spurs fans on our board recently. Most of them are sensible posters but there are culprits who just don't know how to enjoy success properly.
Typing fail from me, that should be *do reckon*.
