I've been of the view for a while that what we really need in the forwards department is a target man, a long-term replacement to Steve Howard (who unfortunately looks more and more that he should be put out to pasture).
So this sounds like a decent plan to me.
Also, coming on as a sub is a whole different game to starting - your team mates are starting to tire and unless coming on as an impact sub, games are usually done and dusted. Promising aquisition.
I've never been impressed by Vellios and neither have my Everyon supporting friends.
However, I thought Nugent was going to be a poor signing so what the hell do I know!!!
I'd sign him for the assonant beauty of his name alone.
Steve Howard (who unfortunately looks more and more that he should be put out to pasture).

Just so long as the pasture isn't in the opposing teams penalty area
Of course, I write pasture - although I could just as easily write stud; thus breeding the immobile northern target men of the future.
You say that Dunge - In his hayday, I believe he was capable of Scoring, and relatively mobile and quick.
Much like a certain Emile Heskey.
If this was a Sven signing I would be worried but Nigel and co don't sign players unless they can add something to the team so if we do sign him I fully expect him to do a job for us!
Apostolos Vellios- if his name had been read out at the KP on the away side team sheet we would all have shouted "whoooooo?"
worth 102 points at scrabble if placed on the correct squares
