yes, i would say we have missed him, he is 2nd best goal assister after jack Hunt.

He has done a lot more tracking back than he used to do, but I don't think his energy levels are all that high, but he's our most skillfull player I'd say.

It's probably a contractual obligation regarding medical care, but I'd have no problem if it was just Town doing the 'right thing'.

Fans have been critical, but we've missed him when he's been out..

Goods news as far as I am concerned.

The only way I've criticised him in the past jacko is the way he bottles out of tackles and looks like he doesn't give a sh it.

He's a good outlet and I think we have missed him, his dead balls can be hit and miss at times, but when he gets it right, there's no one better at this level.

Gary shines in big matches, he seems to revel in it. His deliveries away at Hillsborough were top class, and in the playoffs last season he pretty much single handedly dragged us over the line in the second leg. When he doesn't play we don't have anyone to hug the touchline, take a touch and whip a cross in which is what he always does - any team would miss that. He's frustrating but is worth it in the end.

im hoping he comes back a new player seem hes been carrying this injury for a while. higgs set pieces were quality saturday so we dont need him for corners etc now which had become very poor. cads is an impact player he cant do a full 90 roberts is the better starter ward is same.

Am not a fan, I dont like his demeanour, He is soft and lacks any balls whatsoever, His set pieces also leave a little to be desired often failing to beat the first man,,,,,, But when he is in the mood he has the tricks to cause problems and his mere presence on the pitch causes the opposition to double up on him leaving space for our other players to utilise (we would make more use of that space if we had a central player pushing up), So yes as much as he has me pulling my hair out, We miss him.

agree Brycey, he pulls in 2 and sometimes 3 opposing players when he gets the ball...if we can utilise the space that gives others a little better it would mean Roberts doesn't always have to take on the fullbacks..He is a bit up and down, but for the sheff utd game he'll be the star man for us, and as previously stated, he's a top goals assist player for us..

roberts is a bit hit and miss..when he hits he is a big player for us..
I have seen him play brilliantly for 20 odd minutes, sometimes up to a full half and then dissapear for the rest of the game..maybe we would be best to use him as an impact player from the bench..he certainly could have replaced cads on saturday..
He wont chase back and you know it before you start so it shouldnt suprise anyone, maybe he shouldnt be running backwards in home games and should always look to be available in our half for the outlet ball?? lots of other teams have a wideman who never gets right back but is always there to recieve a clearance rather than the defenders having to lump it anywhere upfield??
just a thought, might be too attacking for lc..

I think whoever invented the strategy whereby wingers are expected to double up as a full back wants bloomin shooting!

Crikey, we have a left back, a left half and a left sided centre back...how many more defenders do we need ?

Game's gone stark raving bonkers ...no wonder roberts is too knackered to put his crosses over.

i think one of the widemen could be classed as a midfield player, having both dropping back too far too, often leaves a right big gap between the defending players and any attackers on the field..
asking roberts to drop isnt a great option, he wont do it half the time and the other half he tackles/trips/pushes from the wrong side and gives away daft free kicks..
know your players, know their strengths/weaknesses and utilise their good points dont highlight the poor ones.. roberts on as a sub, play where you like gary, swap sides get in behind rhodes , drift and ffs stay up the pitch..

Roberts is my player of the year, year on year. It's only when he dunt play you realise he is the only creative spark we have and i hope he stays beyond this season regardless of the division.
