Blimey ...how the Mighty have fallen ( I mean US, by the way!) when we live or die by whether Mark Davies is fit to play or not!
Don't get me wrong ..he's a decent enough player on his good days, but he'd have been a bench warmer at best in a BSA Bolton team!
yeah you run Firstof.....
Thats because Sam didn't often play youngsters, though the jury is still out as to what Nicky Hunt actually used to do at right back for Sam and Bambi spent more time on the floor when he got on the pitch.
Mavies is pretty much our creative spark this year and should he get injured before the end of the season imo I fate would be sealed. With Mavies playing we can have hope of escaping the drop
...... Jaysus, I'm knackered now!
Another good signing by Mr Megson ,ok>

bricks...
I like you very much as a poster and i dont want to get in to any arguments with you. however, i have to say this...
megsons ability in the transfer market was never faulted, he DID sign some cracking players and, however much I hate the guy I cannot deny this...
the problem with him for me was the fact that he was ignorant and even abusive towards the fans, his devil may care attitude he portrayed in the media and his poor, defensive tactics...
that's were he went wrong.
put Owen coyles 'persona' and football philosophy (I wont say tactics) in to megsons ability to scout out a good player, stick it in a suit...and i think you would be on to a winner.
this doesn't stop me thinking megson is a wan.....
though.
Bloody hell, move on, Megson was ages ago.
Fab...this is true.
however, its bricks specialist subject...
I've heard many accounts that all those 'Megson' signings were products of our scouting system and not down to HWSNBN. Big question.....Before he arrived at Bolton, who were all the players that he unearthed? And since he left Bolton, what are the gems that he has unearthed at Wednesday? .....C'mon for such a spotter of talent there should be a long list of players before and after he was with us. Or there is the alternative and that he could no more pick a decent player than he could organise a team to defend a draw when in front! Sorry if this poops on your parade and the only thing that you can hold him good at! FFS we even had Gary Cahill ear-marked as a signing while LSL was in charge before HWSNBN arrived.
I heard another roomer that he could be about to get the boot from Wednesday if they fail to beat the Blades on Sunday with MM lining up Lee Clark as his replacement. We could be in for some fun next week if this turns out to be true, but we've also got to be prepared that he will walk straight into the Wolves job - could make an interesting game at the end of March!

OH GOD!!!!! PLEAAAAASSSSEEEEEEEEEE LET THIS HAPPEN!
lets get the bast... back at the Reebok!
If and when HE returns as the opposing teams manager...do you think the club would close the west stand lower behind the dugouts?
its a serious question? its about the only time id want to sit in the family stand
found this on the wendys board...made me giggle.

I'll just blame you and pull out my hair.
Wasn't Mavies signed after assistant Manager Chris Evans put in a word after spotting him in the Wolves youth system where he was boss.
Think if he does get chopped he'll be the only manager to say yes to Wolves - probably just for the shot at playing us.
Brilliant - an article about the good news that Mavies will be fit has turned into a Megson thread.
Having said that, would be fantastic if he was sacked on the weekend. We'll be invaded though, so batten down the hatches!!!
Don't complain CEF. Not a single negative article about OC all week and its been the most enjoyable period on this board this season IMO.
^^^^^LH very true and there has been some good articles to read too. I've just been too busy until today to take part properly. Does make a nice change, but I fear next week normal service might be resumed if normal service is resumed with the team.
If we don't get mullered by Chelsea should be another week of non negative coyle. If we do though..... Sorry but I will be on the front line again.
LH - not complaining - just amuses me, that's all.
I am not sure 'normal service' will be resumed, because very few of us expect anything on Saturday.
If OC goes 4-2-2 and we lose heavily, then it will be carnage on here.
If OC goes 4-5-1 and we lose heavily, then it won't be as bad.
If OC goes 4-5-1 and we win, draw or lose by a single goal, then it will be quiet on here.
If OC goes 4-4-2 and we win, draw or lose by a single goal, then it will be interesting on here!!
Oops - 4-4-2 not 4-2-2 !!!!!!

we could have 2 sent off?
Your right on that front and hopefully CEF you will be understanding to people's reactions.
I always understand peoples' reactions - I don't always agree though!
