It has gone very quiet

PETERBOROUGH
LOST LOST LOST, I wonder if they can hear that.

Just back from the match. I thought we played well. It's frustrating right now - we've dropped so many points this season in games that we could have and should have won. I'm not unhappy with the draw - Brighton are a decent side and they move the ball well but we competed well, for the most part looked solid and had the best of the chances. If things were going our way right now we would have won that game and quite a few others this season - but the cutting edge isn't quite there.
As regards the players, I thought everyone played their part. The new boys have on display have settled in well. Chimbonda and Beye played particularly well. Diouf didn't have his best game but did ok and took the penalty well. Bagayoko was a real handful - caused problems for Brighton all game and worked his socks off.
There is still hope but we have to start getting the results that our performances deserve. Our chances of staying up may look slimmer with every passing week but there is still reason to hope - let's stay positive and you never know!

A big,big game coming up on tuesday.

Agreed Hound but I think Forest will survive - I still think we have a chance but we need to continue to build confidence and we need a bit of luck! Fingers crossed we can get a result on Tuesday!

I reckon we need 5 wins and 4 draws as a minimum to survive and even then it's tight. A tall order but I'm still hopeful. Didn't our revival start against Forest a few years ago though?

Nookie:

After these last two frustrating draws, I'm dreaming of a revival after a great win at Forest - just hope my dream lasts beyond Tuesday.

Over here on the left coast of the USA, it is difficult to judge how well we are playing. I see hi-lo lights and listen to commentary, and read comments on JA606.

I like Deano's positive attitude in the interviews as compared with Sean's very dour approach.

From here it just seems we give up late or sloppy goals, and then just can't put in in the net. It appears James blazed over from a good opportunity, and others missed great chances.

I was amused when looking at the stats of the Weeds vs. Saints game. Based on stats, the Weeds dominated, but the Saints go rolling on (even with Billy warming the bench).

As some may have read in the past, I supported the Saints for three years while at Southampton University. I still have a feeling for the team and wish them well - except when they play the Rovers. Will Billy start in that game?

Hey Mickey, I see that Portland against Philli is on ESPN a week on Monday night. Will you be going to the game or watching it on TV?

NY:
On TV - there is such a waiting list for season tickets, and they started selling single game tickets at 5:00PM the other day, and people were lining up the previous day and staying overnight. You'd think it was the latest i-Pad or something! How I wish the Rovers had that following!

Mickey

Same thing with the Brewers, ( baseball), they started selling single game tickets last Sturday and people were camped in tents for three days to be first in line. We had snow and low temps last week as well. The call it the Arctic tailgate.

My shop lease runs out on 30 June, and if I do not find a buyer, we are going to close our wine shop. Time to retire. Then I'll have more time to follow the Timbers (hopefully get a season ticket) and the Rovers.
Look forward, or regret, my more activity on J 606!

My opinion

We didn't deserve to lose, Brighton were poor, their goal was shambolic really and although Diouf likes a dive every now and then he's a beginner compared to their players. Lad behind me made me smile at half time saying " its like watching Platoon on the movies channel"

Bagayoko had a brilliant game, Spurr and Gillett were good, Chimbonda put more effort in. Apart from Gillett the subs were ineffectual and Diouf scares the hell out of me with his penalties - any more laid back and he'd be horizontal (like Mackail-Smith for most of the game) Having said that it fooled their keeper as he didn't move a muscle

Not the best performance but a little more fight and if we played like that against our relegation rivals we'd stand a chance of getting out of this mess

Well we have the chance to do just that on tuesday night.

My comment "not good enough" was simply a statement of fact rather than performance.

The last 3 matches we have played should have yielded 3 points.

Leeds were poor - we lost; Brighton were poor - we drew; against Posh it should have been all 3 points but we couldn't close down.

At the moment, not getting 3 points against teams who haven't played well against us isn't good enough, end of story.

For me the highlight yesterday was the half time penalty contest. The rest was a display of frantic headless chicken football. Having said that, Bagayoko was immense and should have been MoM by miles - all of which he ran. My only regret was that after his mazy run up the left touchline he elected to pass the ball to where Hayter should have been instead of shooting himself. A mistake I am sure he won't repeat. Diouf is hugely talented and if he applies himself he may just keep us in this league. You do get the naggging feeling however that he is missing his vocation partnering Tom Daley.

Albi, i agree with your assessmentnof Bagayoko.
He is improving by the game, probably due to him getting match fit.
I wasnt impressed after his first two outings but against Peterbro and again yesterday he was very good.
He reminded me yesterday of Fortune.

Ah, Hound! Fortune! Every time I see WBA on TV I watch out for Marc-Antoine. He doesn't score many but he makes loads. It was a privilege to watch him at the KM.

Yes, it is a shame he was recalled because he was really strting to show his class.
