If you really want to discuss India-WI series then join CMS(Cricket Match Special). This site is mainly an England site and there arent too many people who want to discuss this serieshere.
But on CMS there is a very active discussion going on.

Ah! ok, I was wondering where everyone was! it's a shame because this board is perfect as it's a carbon copy of 606.

Please stop begging, everyone knows about CMS and some of us do not like the format. That goes for 606v2 as well.

I must say I don't see the current WI test as nicely balanced. WI are once again behind the eight ball Which is a big pity.
If the WI batsmen could match their bowling thins might be different.

true, the batting has been mediocre at best. I think if shiv stays, this will be a solid partnership. but there is a reason why they haven't scored over 300 in a while- they face a huge uphill task. even a small lead is competitive, but it might be too much to ask of WI.

Stop throwing insults at others.I think the quality of posting is much more important than the site layout. If you dont like the format dont come. But that doesnt mean others would not like the format.I am not at all begging.I dont have any benefit.I am not the owner of CMS.I was just suggesting a site to titushambles so that he could discuss the ongoing India-WI series coz no one here seems to be interested in the series.CMS is a place where there are a lot of WI and indian fans who are interested in discussing the series.Even the England fans like myself are far more in number on CMS.There are quite a few posters who are more interested in cricket discussions rather than moaning about site formats.I like this site.I dont have any problems. But atm its way too inactive so the fans cant have much of a discussion.

I've enjoyed this West Indies late summer series with Pak and India. So far they have produced 4 result wickets (including this wicket) and long may it continue. I still remember those flat tracks in 2009 when England were touring.

posted on 30/6/11

Yes kash.Sarwan was made to look like Bradman on those tracks. He averaged over 100 in that series.Even Ramdin who otherwise cant score a run for a toffee scored heavily in that series.

posted on 30/6/11

I really have no interest in this series due to India fielding a weakened side.

posted on 30/6/11

Exactly Shanky but I think the reason for these tracks is due to the rain season and the fact that there cricket season is over and normal service come next year.

In terms of this match i hope these two build a partnership and get beyond Indias total cos anything less and India will win.

Ginger
I felt the same but looking at the sporting pitches they have produced I have developed interest in this series.

Shanky. If you like CMS so much why are you frequently coming on on other sites pleading for customers, just stay there.
This site will become more popular when the India series begins.

This series feels like an England Football friendly against Peru.

I want to see India come to England low on confidence. So I definitely want to see WI at least draw the series. This partnership is the key.If one of these two go I can see the Windies folding under 150.

Defo once the India series begins this site will get rammed from both sides supporters. Its also good to see Amir and Afridi14 posting on this site to assist the fellow Pak contingent.

Shanky,
are you the owner or one of the owners of the site CMS?Or a marketer for the site?
Dont get me wrong but you give that impression.
I have joined CMS but just like many others pointed out, complicated layouts.
I am sure the activity over here will surely increase with time and the aura of original 606 will be felt.
Btw, what a difference a sporty pitch makes, even 2nd string sides are producing brilliant contests.

All true cricket fans want to see a resurgence in WI cricket but there seems it's a long way off.
It would be good for WI cricket to reduce there International commitments and get their young talent into county cricket or Oz grade cricket to develope their skills as it did in the past.

Hope I think the West Indies bowling has re-emerged (not to the greats) but a squad which consists of the new Rampaul, Edwards, Bishoo, Sammy, Roach, Taylor, Russel etc isnt too bad but there batting is very poor and once Shiv calls its a day they are in deep trouble. Lets hope Barath progresses.

maybe they need Bolt to play cricket rather than think about playing for Man Utd after athletics, haha.

Windies have talent coming through.. just don't seem to develop them as well. They lack a quality no. 3 - looks like Bravo has the quality to fill that void but he's still young and learning. Anyway, I'm hoping that they can build a lead from here... it will be interesting to see if praveen can still work his magic. Surely he's earned a place for England!

Thinking ahead, does anyone think India will go for a four man pace attack with harabhajan as the spin option? I would like to see:
Gambhir, Sehwag, Dravid (Kohli), Tendulkar, Laxman, Raina, Bhajji, Praveen, Zaheer, Sreesanth, Ishant

I think bhajji has shown he can bat a bit- can he be reliable at 7? probably a bold shout. As much as I hate sreesanth's antics, he does seem to do well in bowler friendly conditions.

posted on 30/6/11

Titus - Praveen has suprised me on this tour and in England on seaming conditions he could be dangerous despite the lack of pace.

posted on 30/6/11

Titus, will you play without wicket-keeper?

posted on 30/6/11

HAH. error! yeah... I knew something wasn't right. Can't see Raina being dropped- Indians are far too cautious for that. Plus he gives an extra bowler's option. So in all likelyhood, it will (should) be between praveen and sree.

I've kept an eye on the scorecards but not much more, seems the west indies are competeing with the ball but have an inexperienced batting lineup which is struggling, they need their experienced guys to step up when it matters e.g. in the first innings when they can influence the game and give themselves a chance of winning.

Good point made about WI producing results pitches, they should be complemented for this and long may it continue.
