I got Illmatic when it was released, barely listened to it until If I Ruled the World and It Was Written came out. Think I was too young to understand it when I first got it.
Was more into the p-funk soul of Dre, Warren G, Snoop and DPG.
Wasn't until I heard Only Built 4 Cuban Link... I got into the East coast mafia style rapping in 95, and really got into Illmatic and Mobb Deep.
