18. Ryan Jones
19. Farrell
20. Roberts
21. AW Jones
22. Blair
There or thereabouts: Jonathan Davies, Bowe, Kearney
1.Jenkins (grafter and can get all around the pitch)
2.Ford (Best hooker and not much other option)
3. Cole (one of the best scrummagers in the game)
4. Wyn Jones (work horse)
5.Difficult one because you need a unit to boss a physical challenge like shaw did in the last lions tour. Gray couldn't do this. Maybe Evans or Botha for England has been good.
6. Croft (Line out option and clinical when playing an expansive game)
7. Warburton captain (will put his head where most people wouldn't put their boots......great player)
8. Heaslip (hasn't been at his best but is incredible when he is)
9. Phillips (confident and always gonna produce in a big match)
10. Farrell (kicks his goals, decent defence and a good passing game. Most consistent 10)
11. Bowe (clinical offers something different than just having two big boys on the wing)
12. Robert (rips open defences and will be ideal with tuilagi)
13. Tuilagi (athletic specimen and quality player all round)
14. North (great runner and offloading ability....gonna play centre in a few years)
15. Foden/Halfpenny/Kearney (any will do. Halfpenny can kick if farrrell is doing crap. foden is a confident runner and offers something different to the likes of roberts, north and tuilagi. Kearney has the ability to be one of the best 15's in the world)
Captain h
I think you missed Tom Jones, Katherine Jenkins and Fireman Sam out!
Alex Cobisiero (Great at youth level now stepping up)
Ford
Dan Cole
Parling (Best line out operator in the NH imo unlucky with injuries)
Gray (Best player of the six nations for me)
Croft (Great in the looose, line out, breakdown and improving his game in the tight)
Warbuton (Best 7 in the NH)
Morgan (Outstanding debut in the six nations explosive ball carrier with soft hands)
Youngs (Quickest, most creative SH hes getting back into form)
Farrell (Kicks goals, makes tackles, great distributor, sees space)
Hogg
Barritt
J.Davies
North
Foden
John,
So you think no irish player makes a lions starting 15?
John, no disrespect but my team would destroy yours if they played next Saturday!!
Tommy Bowe/Kearney would be good squad players.
Ben Foden is more physical/dynamic and safe. Kearney is great at kick and chase but not sure about him defensively SH teams will expose him
IMO
POC, Kearney, Rory best, Sexton. Are Lions Starters.
O'Brian playing at 6 is a possibility.
O'Driscoll Playing outside Roberts in SA 4 years ago was the best center partnership i have ever seen.
So an argument for O'Driscoll is valid.
Well, if we're basing it on this tournament:
1 Corbisiero
2 Best
3 Cole
4 Gray
5 POC
6 Lydiate
7 Rennie
8 Morgan
9 Phillips
10 Farrell
11 Bowe
12 Roberts
13 Tuilagi
14 Cuthbert
15 Halfpenny
RedtillDead
Well Bowe is not a left winger and the 2 welsh wingers have that position locked down anyway.
Tuilagi and Roberts in the middle could be great.
Farrell will never see 10 in a Lions Jersey, not this year, 4 years time maybe. Sexton and Pristland have that position.
Hi there
By 2013 i think O'Connell may be thought of as too old, and I'd see both Foden and Halfpenny ahead of Kearney, similarly, Hartley will probably be ahead of Best, as might Rees and Farrell or Priestland may usurp Sexton. I reckon Ireland might be about to go through a bit ofa rebuild, which might see their Lions numbers limited. If Heaslip can recover his form he, for me, would be the clearest cut though he'll be under pressure from the like of Denton, Faletau and Morgan
"Farrell will never see 10 in a Lions Jersey, not this year, 4 years time maybe. Sexton and Pristland have that position."
Farrell outplayed both this tournament though, scored more points and is only 20. Lions is next year - he'll have played in SA, Autumn and another 6N before the potential call up.
I've based it purely on this 6 nations anyway and Farrell has been the best 10.
...and I stuck Bowe in there as he was top try scorer. I think he offers a bit more than North but North will probably be in due to his physicality.
Jenkins
Rees
Cole
Gray
Lawes
Croft
Warburton (c)
Denton/Morgan/faletau (hard call need to see another year)
Youngs (out of form but most talented lions SH, but anybody except Phillips)
Farrell
North
Hook (need a creative player inside Manu)
Tuilagi
Bowe
Foden
Ye well Bowe won't be offering anything from the left wing. Top try scorer or not.
Indeed the lions is next year so a lot of time to go before any calls are made certainly plays into Farrell favor.
Hell there will be another 6 nations, several test series and 2 Heineken cups before this decision becomes important. And will most likely be based on next years SIx Nations performances rather than this years.
SARS:
Ye were in for a rough few years by the looks of things. However Conor O'Shea has been saying all through this Six Nations, that Wales and England have gone with a Strategy of youth and that has obviously paid off. Im not so sure a rebuild is required as we have a lot of youth coming through the provinces, Playing in the Heineken cup and doing very well.
More we need a new less conservative manager to take us forward.
I will have a go :
1. Jenkins (Wales) - top player
2. Rees (Wales) - lack of options
3. Jones (Wales) - top player
4. Alun Wyn Jones (Wales) - top player
5. Gray (Scotland) - excellent through 6n
6. Lydiate (Wales) - excellent through 6n
7. Warburton (Wales) - top player
8. Denton (Scotland) - excellent through 6n
9. Phillips (Wales) - not many options
10. Farrell (England) - not many options
11. Bowe (Ireland) - like him or not, get's tries
12. North (Wales) - will BOD be too old, give it a go.
13. Tuilagi (England) - threat
14. Cuthbert (Wales) - impressive 6n
15. Halfpenny (Wales) - safe 15

Bowe does not play 11
"Hartley will probably be ahead of Best"
-----
To be honest, I'll find it very difficult to support any Lions teams with Hartley in it.
1. Corbisiero (great 6n, made a joke of the irish scrum, good round the loose and decent pace)
2. Ford (big powerful player, good ball carrier and decent line out)
3. Jones (worlds best tighthead. Scrum is key for the tour, and this 3 will take apart their aussie opposition)
4.Gray (turning into a great player, physical, great ball carrier and strong in the line out)
5. Lawes )formiddable tackler, true athlete, will be able to match pace of aussies, acts as an extra 6 in the loose)
6. Croft/lydiate (cant make my mind up, lydiate so strong in the tackle and gets everywhere, croft great in the loose, fast and sublime in the lineout, giving us 3 very good lineout options. With lineout and scrum tied up by the lions, we'll have huge forward momentum)
7. Warburton (captain, best 7 in NH, fearless, great tackler and will be essential to nullify pocock)
8. Morgan/O'Brien (again, spoilt for choice, Morgan had a great debut and so good at carrying the ball, will get you over the game time, but possibly a better ball carrier is O'Brien, a tank who punches his way through any defence, this fella is definetly an 8)
9. Philips (physical, bully, strong, gets quick ball for the backline)
10. Farrell (solid in defence, great goal kicker, good passing)
11. Cuthbert (big, strong and quick, tp powerful for the aussies to handle)
12. Roberts (great ball carrier, punches holes and offloads)
13. Tuilagi (sp powerful in attack, imagine stopping Roberts for him to offload to tuilagi, how demoralising is that)
14. North (see cuthbert)
15. Halfpenny (extra kicking option, quick, agile, strong defensively. Offers that little bit of magic)

Rees
Cole
Hamilton
Denton/Ferris
Youngs
Sexton

Why is everyone picking Tuilagi?
I have watched him for England havent been impressed with him at all. Lacks pace to play as a 13 doesnt have the ball skills. Very physical though
I actually think his best position could be as a number 8
The Irish Scrum went under after the first scrum of the game when Mike Ross got injured but continued to play on. There is a criminal lack of Prop forwards in Ireland. And tom court is not a tighthead so could not replace Ross and face down a monster England scrum. On a wet day with handling errors across the park, ireland were doomed to lose as soon as Ross was unable to play.
I think almost ever team listed above lacks Leadership across the park. They all look like playstation dream teams.
Alex Corbisiero was destroying Mike Ross before he went off
Would have been the same result if he did stay on
Alex Corbisiero is a player I have been raving about for a while
Watched him alot for the England U20 very explosive ball carrier and can play on both sides
England U20 won the six nations again we seem to win it every year and get to the final of the IRB junior championships with New Zealand
But because of inept coaches we dont pick those youngsters wasted last 5/6 years relying on experience when we should have blooded youth
Like is said, The first scrum of the game ross got injured and continued to play for another 30 mins. Basically because the Ireland manager knew he had no choice. Tom court was always going to be destroyed.
The game was won and lost at the scrum. Not taking anything from the winners. But had Ross not been injured, it might have been closer
