I cannot believe Arsenal’s spend, wow. And Spurs too tbf.
Just goes to show spending money doesn’t necessarily achieve eff all.

LVG is the poster boy for that reasoning

Ultimately, I think a lot of people feel that OGS is finally taking United in the right direction which is something that Moyes, LVG nor José could do.
We’re playing good football, the XI looks strong, morale is up and the team is young (youngest in the entire league).
Regardless on the semantic debate about first season or 1.5 seasons in. OGS is getting us moving in the right way and I personally would take that over temporary short-term options but being able to talk about ‘titles’ and “3, so respect, 3 respect”
Even if Ole doesn’t win anything major at United, similar for Pochettino at Spurs, at least he will have probably repaired the huge damage done post SAF, which again is a lot more than Moyes, LVG & Mourinho managed.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I don’t disagree with a lot of that. But I would expect more of Ole if he managed to stay for a couple more years than just steadying the ship.

To be similar to Poch he would have to have instilled a clear style of football and to be challenging for the highest honours. At one point he had Spurs as one of the best teams in Europe.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think your being unfair by labelling it steadying the ship. It’s a lot more than that.

On Poch comparison yes I think Ole will do similar at the least, I would actually bet that he will win a major trophy whereas Poch never did.

I mean look at our team now and then add Sancho, just Sancho no new CDM, RWB or anything else that people feel we need.

That team is then looking proper, really proper. And, still the youngest in the league. I don’t know what more people could have expected from Ole.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

By the end of next season with what he’s spent and the excellent players he’s inherited I’d expect something special from him - a decent trophy or a title challenge. Or else it would be time to give those players to a better manager and see what he does with them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
i dont get the whole "with what he spent line"

you make it sound like he was the only manager to spend any money.

in the summer transfer window we spent 148 million, only 3 and a half more than villa!!

arsenal spent 138, city 134, everton 118, spurs and leicester close to 100 million each too

----------------------------------------------------------------------

You forget £68 million on Fernandes 😂

And my assumption is based on us also spending £100 plus on Sancho - hence why I say by the end of next season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
thats why i said the summer

and thats why i didnt include bergwijn or gedson for spurs.. because lets be honest.. those signed in january havent had a chance to make much of an impact
----------------------------------------------------------------------

You can’t discount what was spent on Fernandes considering that signing saved our season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
has it? seasons not over yet.. might not save it at all
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It was looking terminal before he signed. God help us if he gets injured
----------------------------------------------------------------------
With Pogba also available now we do have at least some creativity if Bruno gets injured.

Yeah that didn’t answer the question. Because you cannot be stupid enough to write that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a better manager than Jose Mourinho.

I didn’t ask who was a better fit. I asked who was better, but United fans don’t want to answer that simple question.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Well if you are pushing me for an answer based on who is better right now, rather than who is a better fit for United (which is a bit daft for me), then I would go for Ole. Although I don't think there is much in it. But I don't see Jose enjoying a resurgence. Ole I think is getting better.

Thanks for answering.

Of course Ole is better, and he will prove it.

Not a better career of course, but now and in the future.

He's better because he'll be better in the future?

Do people rate managers/players on a game by game basis?

Or do they rate them when comparing to past successes, or current prowess.
