People were saying that Klopp could not organise a defense.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Big difference is that Klopp had shown that he could make a successful back four in the past. Dortmund had an insanely talented back four pairing of Hummels and Subotic. Whereas Lampard has a pretty chaotic defence at Derby.

Liverpool were very poor at defending prior to Klopp taking over. Our defence was hardly great but it was not nearly as unreliable.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It maybe all we have, but Derby is a lazy comparison. We have manager in his 2nd season. Predicting his chances for success based on such a small sample size of historical performance is pretty risky

You highlight Rudiger as someone who you used to rate. Personally, I always thought of him as pretty average, and still do - he's no better than AC or Zouma particularly.

However, when you have a defender who has looked in the past quite competent, to alarmingly deteriorate overnight - then something seems to not to be right.

SWTN, don't get me wrong I am behind Lampard and believe he deserves time. However, his biggest flaw up to now has been his defensive record. I don't expect this to improve until he really learns how to organise a team.

I said he was decent not amazing. Players deteriorate all the time. I have not sern evidence that correlates player declines to the manager. There are way too many assumptions going on here, but I conclusive sample size or evidence.

But maybe you can organise a team when you have the right players, which takes me back to Klopp.

The truth is we have poor defenders at present. You can't manage AC for example. The mistakes he makes at this stage of his career are a reflection on his lacking ability. Emerson and Alonso lol. Rudiger, who I thought was decent without being amazing has had a shocker. It comes to something when our best CB is Zouma. And then this is Kepa who frankly is at the De Goey standard
----------------------------------------------------------------------
and a manager that spent his career playing alongside Terry, Cole et al. No wonder he struggles to settle on a back four.............

A settled back line would help, but when our defenders gave bern so erratic its impossible no to chop and change.

It serms to me that Frank made a conscious effort to at AC regularly but his constant mistakes made it impossible to kerp him in the team

Funnily enough I think Phil Neville hits the nail on the head when he talks about it being the players, and not being an organisation issue.

Whereas with us I think it's organisational. Sarri and Conte kept good defensive records with many of these players. Both kept a very good structure and were able to organise the team to defend from set pieces. And this is with much of the same players as who are struggling under Frank.

And see this is where I disagree with the consensus. AC has had many bad games this season, but I see it less than a reflection of his ability, but more the poor defensive setup and lack of discipline installed to the team.

Thats not to say he deserves to play; as of right not Zouma and even perhaps Tomori deserve to be ahead. But under another manager he would probably look like a fairly competent (but not brilliant) defender.

Exactly this Biggish. If you think about it, it is completely natural to replace inconsistency. Having played alongside Terry etc is must be difficult not having a natural leader to build a squad or a defence around. Azpi is fine but he is no JT. If only one of them would step up, I was hoping it was going to be Rudiger as he did show some command and dominance for a short time, not sure where that Rudiger went.

IMO AC can't be absolved in any way. He can't cope physically and he kerpd howing an utter lack of awareness of what is happening in the box and absolutely no sense or anticipation of danger

Its only my opinion. But I think he is feckin useless.

The Arsenal performance spooked me. Grit, discipline, clear gameplan, well executed, Luiz sensational. Feels jarring.

Maybe remind yourself it was one game
