Maresca, not at all convinced!

Imo, since the drop off, imo every time he has opened his gob he has not been convincing.

🗣 Enzo Maresca: "When we were second in December, everyone was happy and said Chelsea were back.

Then in February we dropped points and everyone said that Chelsea was not good enough. So in the end it is about results."

Well yeah Enzo...yeah. You're a football manager. You live and die on results mate.

Where's Oscar and his cocaine induced Chelsea Charge ? We'll need some of that today.

If you had to choose one to join Chelsea.....

Both are leaving their clubs this summer

Grealish or Garnacho?

posted 1 week, 5 days ago

Garnacho

His issue is his attitude, but he's very talented. A good coach can fix that at his age.

Grealish at his peak was a joy to watch but he's over the hill.

posted 1 week, 5 days ago

Btw, neither would be top of my life.

Would prefer any of the other LWs we've been linked with: Gittens if it's young and raw or Rodyrgo/Williams for finished articles.

I really hope we don't sign Garnacho. He comes across as a top cant

Of the two I'd take Grealish. Think he has something to offer for a couple more years.

posted 1 week, 5 days ago

Grealish has been awful for about 4 years and would want £200k plus in wages. Big no for me.

So today, it is again back to the issue of can we trust this group of players to step up and finally win a huge must win game?

This time round, mainly due to the growth in stature on the pitch of Cucarella and Caicedo, maybe we can.

Lavia is another reason to be optimistic. If Palmer can mustered a similar performance as he did versus Liverpool then we have a great chance.

My main concern is that Sanchez has not fecked up for quite a run of games now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Our away form is crap, I'm not convinced our lot can go there and win.

Probably need a favour from the hopeless United

posted 1 week, 5 days ago

That's where I am more or less. I think our top five aspirations depend on Man United.

posted 1 week, 5 days ago

If we can get the 1st goal it’ll really open up the game. If they get it we’re fecked.

posted 1 week, 5 days ago

Go a bit defensive in attack/midfield:

Lavia, Caicedo, Enzo
Palmer, Neto, Sancho

Or the usual:

Caicedo, Enzo
Madueke, Palmer, Sancho
Neto

Have a feeling Lavia starts today as he’s not registered in the conference league squad.

If we wanna be on the front foot then Lavia has to start

Previous performance of both teams says the 1st goal is critical

Yep, not even close for me.

Grealish is long past it, and had the joy of football coached out of him by pep anyway.

Rate Garnacho, though one caveat would be that I’m not at all sure Maresca is the guy to get a tune out of him.

Should Chelsea confirm Champions League football for next season, they will look to take advantage of RB Leipzig's failure to qualify by making a move for Belgian midfielder Arthur Vermeeren.

Vermeeren was initially looked at by Chelsea in back in 2022 whilst at Antwerp, before making the jump to Atletico Madrid. Having initially joined Leipzig on loan in 2024, the conditions were met in January 2025 for his transfer to become permanent, however failure to secure Champions League football ahead of next season may force Leipzig to sell off some of their star players in order to balance the books.
