Think we need an additional striker as well as Delap, not sure him and Jackson is good enough to get us to where we need to be.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well in that case we'll need someone else instead of both of them. We're not going to keep three strikers happy all vying for one spot in the team.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's quite normal to have three strikers, provided the 3rd choice is a definite third choice who won't complain too much.

I see Jackson and Delap as backup strikers to someone more experienced and a more proven goal scorer.
I think we'll only buy another striker if we sell Jackson
posted 1 week, 2 days ago
I think if it's Clearlake being consistent with how they have approached transfers for 2-3 years then it's just Delap and Jackson.

Yeah but that wasn't my point in this instance. There would be no third choice striker who won't complain if we have Jackson, Delap and another top striker lol

“In Chelsea, they like Rodrygo a lot. Rodrygo meets all the requirements: young, with experience at elite level and with tremendous margin of evolution. The price will not be cheap, around €100million. They believe he could be one of the Crown Jewels next season.
There have been informal enquiries, but the interest has not materialized yet, although it is expected that it will happen soon.
In Stamford Bridge they want to make a niche for him.”

I missed some of the second half of yesterday’s game, so I watched the highlights this morning. And I saw Jackson running through on goal - before kicking it too far ahead of himself and rolling it to the keeper. Truly awful. He has no footballing iq.
Then I just saw the YouTube video of Delap that Steve posted above - and he looks like a very poor man’s Gyorkeres. Strong, and puts himself about causing problems in the box like a bull in a china shop. He’s brave too, and probably a better finisher than Jackson, but that’s the best I can say about him.
Delap plus Jackson will be better than Jackson on his own - but these guys are not world-beaters.

Yeah I do like Madueke despite his shortcomings. Still quite young as well.

He is several key years and seasons behind Gyokeres in development so that should not be a surprise

Gyokeres/Osimhen & Delap means we're serious.
Madueke & Neto are ok for the RW, it's the LW that needs someone who can chip in with goals on a regular basis

That’s true. He should improve over the next 3-4 years. And I don’t know what his ceiling is. Drogba was a late developer, so who knows. But as of right now I’m feeling a bit meh about signing him.

And what about Estevao? I know he was talking himself up as a number 10, but I assume he will play as a right winger. Will we have Estevao, Neto and Madueke?
Currently we have no left wingers if we haven’t made a decision on Sancho yet. Yesterday’s performance probably proved he was worth spending £25M for (assuming his wages are in line), but I still imagine he would be backup for whoever else we sign. But as much as I like the idea of Rodrygo I can’t see us spending that much.
