I think it's a combination of factors like the quality of squad, luck, where the priorities lie. I'm sure there is some truth in the idea that by performing so poorly in the league it leads you to focus less on the league itself and some other competition you might be in and then you'd probably have the edge over an opponent who has their league to focus on as well as that competition. Particularly if that opponent isn't a real top quality one.

If Ange stays then I hope he gets a couple more experienced coaches in and then we sort out the medical issues

Villa have won nothing and not qualified for the CL.

Newcastle (like us are in the CL) won a trophy and fair play to them for that but it's a vastly inferior trophy to ours.

Don't be fooled by our league position, Ange has admitted that the squad/injuries didn't allow us to fight on two fronts so he binned off the Prem and he was totally right to do so.

We need to be ruthless this summer if we want to have any chance of competing in all comps. This is irrespective of Ange, who I still want out

I think he’s shown he’s good enough to be backup plus he’s homegrown which we’re struggling with

Great talent, but the level of not trying since Udogie came back from injury (and especially the final game) is a level I don't expect from a professional.

Don’t like you

I used to be the biggest sell Son guy out there, but I dont think there is the market value to get a worthwhile return - and if he wants to end his career here that would be cool. Its sometimes nice to have things that aren't all financial X's & O's.

Oh I'm not suggesting we sell for the money. More like squad building - we're not signing a Niko Williams (obviously) in that position while he's around so we have him and Odobert or Tel. Not amazing is it.

Obviously he's a legend and can still contribute but also we could use that squad place (and ok money yeah) on someone better
