Donald Trump has been invited to attend a memorial service for the Queen in the Washington, D.C., after missing out on the guest list for her funeral.

The former president, 76, is among those being invited by the British government to attend its U.S. event commemorating her life.

Current US President Joe Biden and his wife Jill will attend the Queen's funeral in London on Monday, along with 500 other world leaders and foreign dignitaries.

But lack of space meant that the five former presidents - Trump, Barack Obama, George W. Bush, Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter - did not receive invitations because there was only room at Westminster Abbey for current leaders from each nation.

Instead, they are being invited to the Washington service.

A former BBC radio presenter found guilty of stalking four people including broadcaster Jeremy Vine has been jailed for five and a half years.

Alex Belfield, who now runs a YouTube channel, stalked his victims by harassing them online.

His trial heard he made YouTube videos about them, posted messages on social media, sent emails, and also encouraged his followers to target them.

The judge said one of his victims came close to killing himself.

Belfield had harassed this victim, BBC Radio Northampton presenter Bernard Spedding, for nine years and some of his followers had sent him death threats.

"He was seconds away from taking his own life as a result of your conduct," the judge, Mr Justice Saini, told Belfield.

"You made this highly successful and confident radio presenter lose all joy in life and turned him into a shell."

The judge said that while Belfield did not physically approach or watch his victims, the effects were just as damaging.

"The stalking you committed was not the conventional type which is popularised in the press," he said.

"Your methods were, however, just as effective as a way of intimidating your victims, and were in many ways much harder to deal with."

The judge said he agreed with some of the witnesses in the case, who said Belfield had "weaponised the internet".

A Las Vegas-led consortium is aiming to complete a takeover of Premier League club Bournemouth by the end of October.

It is believed that Bill Foley, owner of the National Hockey League (NHL) team Las Vegas Golden Knights, is leading the bid.

The consortium has entered a period of exclusivity over the purchase of the club with terms and a price for the purchase already agreed.

Bournemouth were promoted from the Championship in May.

The club are owned by Russia-born businessman Maxim Demin.

Subject to a review from the Premier League, the new owners hope to be in position at the Vitality Stadium by the end of next month.

Erling Haaland continued his impressive scoring run as Manchester City went back to the top of the Premier League with a comfortable win against 10-man Wolves at Molineux.

The hosts had only touched the ball once before Jack Grealish put City in front after just 55 seconds.

Haaland scored for the seventh consecutive game and took his tally to 14 in the past nine when he doubled the visitors' advantage with a long-range effort after 16 minutes.

A spirited Wolves continued to try and attack, even after Nathan Collins was sent off for a high first-half tackle on Grealish.

However, with Raul Jimenez missing through injury and new arrival Diego Costa not deemed fit enough for any involvement beyond meeting some fans before the game, they never looked likely to add to their paltry tally of three league goals.

By contrast, City have 23, with Phil Foden completing their victory by flicking home Kevin de Bruyne's low cross midway through the second half.

Hundreds of thousands of people in Japan have been urged to evacuate their homes amid warnings of "unprecedented" risks from an approaching storm.

Typhoon Nanmadol is expected to make landfall on Kyushu island on Sunday.

Winds could reach 270km/h (168mph) and some areas could experience 500mm (20 inches) of rainfall in just 24 hours.

A "special alert" is in force for Kyushu, with warnings of landslides and flooding. Train services and flights have been cancelled.

Kyushu is the southernmost of the four islands that make up the main body of Japan and has a population of over 13 million people.

This is the first special alert ever issued outside the Okinawa Prefecture, which consists of the smaller, remote islands in the East China Sea, the Japan Times reports.

Robbie Cundy scored against his former club as 10-man Barnsley eased past beat Cambridge United.

James Brophy hit a post for the hosts in the seventh minute, and it was a miss the U's would regret.

Devante Cole opened the scoring in the 24th minute when he was played in by Liam Kitching's pass and fired low into the bottom corner.

Goalkeeper Brad Collins made a fine save to deny Liam O'Neil shortly after half-time to preserve his side's lead, but he was then taken off injured after a serious clash that contributed to 14 minutes of stoppage time.

When play restarted, Kitching brought down Harvey Knibbs and was dismissed after 67 minutes for a second booking.

Despite the disadvantage, former Cambridge loanee Cundy scored with a looping header to double the advantage nine minutes later.

Sam Smith and Jack Lankester had the ball in the net for Cambridge before seeing them disallowed for offside, then Barnsley substitute James Norwood ran clear at the start of stoppage time to bury the visitors' third.
