top gear usa is alright, not as good as ours but its passable, the inbetweeners usa is the worst thing ever produced

Isnt their a remake of the house of cards.

The charm of our TV is in our sense of humour and way of life which Americans don't get. I think that is the reason our TV shows don't translate well when the Yanks remake them.

I didn't think the Inbetweeners US was as bad as I expected. Hard to forget the UK version though, and it is nowhere near in comparison.

But to be fair to the US, we did remake the Golden Girls into Brighton Belles, which was possibly the worst TV show ever.

Inbetweeners USA is quite possibly the worst thing I've ever seen.

Shameless and Skins USA were gash too.

I preferred the American 'Let the Right One In' remake

And any war film involving our cousins across the Pond is a total remake of history.

Our comedy shows have characters whose failed ambition is relatable to our sense of humour and that is what makes good comedies- a lot of American comedies aren't good at sublety or developing characters that are relatable and it seems too in your face and well fake.

I don't like American comedy. In terms of their sitcoms, I don't think the world subtle exists.

Then you need to watch Curb your enthusiasm

=======
On the other hand Band Of Brothers, The Pacific and Generation Kill were brilliant war TV series.

Americans just seem to love stupid people falling over out of shot and there being a loud crash. The person that fell over will come out limping and say "I'm OK" and the audience love it.

I enjoy "Louie" on Fox, that is funny.

That scene in Borat where he goes to visit a humour specialist? satirically nails American humour down to a tee.

That was funny... NOT.

I thought their version of Life on Mars was quite good.

Their Top gear sucks. There is no chemistry at all between the presenters.

On the other hand the UK done a pretty good job of Law & Order.

Rob

Is it on British tele? I'll keep it in mind.

The US remake of Eleventh Hour is another one that was not the best

Imagine of Americans watched 'My Family' and 'Two packets etc' and thought that was the best of British!

The US have some of the best ever sitcoms.

Taxi, Cheers, Frasier, Friends, Scrubs, Curb your enthusiasm etc

The majority of their remakes are a steaming pile of crap.

The Inbetweeners, Skins and Top Gear were all woeful and the only one I could watch more than half an episode of was The Office (I hated the English Office).

Everybody says their dramas are great, though. I've never got round to see Boardwalk Empire and Breaking Bad yet, but people tell me they're class.

I think Friends is in your face garbage. Sorry Rob.
