Another peach of an article Wayne and Robin
I know you will delete this too as you are the biggest numpty going, but thanks for making me laugh when I saw you deleted a fellow United fans comments , cheers
I dont know why people are getting so offended
the guy has taken one of the worse teams in the league and on the budget of £10-15 million to a club that challenges for CL positions every year
I don't get the face about Everton's finances. They are 7-8th highest spenders on and average in the league and they pretty much finish then and there barring exceptions.

People continually turn a blind eye to this information.
Moyes average spend comaptred with that of other Prem teams isn't far off his average league placing.

They are far from the worse teams in the league
Do you understand why United might be a bit reluctant to appoint someone with Mourinho's track record with trouble?
Wayne and Robin I think you are under valuing Moyes man management, tactics and being able to do make something out of nothing.
I dont think its long before Everton get 4th and it will be an excellent achievement given the circumstances he is working with.

Rob I think we are in agreement that Mr Mourinho is not the manager we need after SAF's retirement.
Most clubs would have sacked Moyes in his first 4 seasons. He had a few seasons where Everton were on the cusp of relegation.
Look at Peter Reid and George Burley - those two had similar managerial patterns with Sunderland and Ipswich respectively. Difference being, that those two were sacked.
Rob I wouldnt be that unhappy if Moyes was appointed manager I think he's good.
Absolutely. He would be a lot more stable than the likes of Jose.
And I think he would promote youth and play expansive football. He plays the way he does with Everton given his personnel and financial restrictions placed on him.
I must say i am with the OP on this.
I have already expressed my strong reservations about Moyes on Myriad threads - he is exactly where he should be. He has in no way being exceptional.
Plus, Moyes is one of the highest earning football managers in the PL - about 4- 5m a year i think.
Outrageous really.
Moyes has done pretty much the same as Wenger over the last 8 or so years. The minimum to keep people off his back.
He has failed to deal with Evertons main issue, that of goalscoring options.
As the OP said, he has spent a fair amount compared to those in a similar position to Everton.
Between 05 and 09 he spent a net of close to £50million. Since then he has had the luxury of selling one player for big money and getting to reinvest the profit. The players he has had to sell have hardly been the main man either, especially this year when he mugged City off for £15m for Rodwell.
People talk about Wenger having an easy job with no pressure of the sack. Moyes has it even easier.
TRC you have been against this before I remember. If not Moyes then who? Would love to know your choice.
Wayne Robin nit sure how old you are but ten years ago they were pretty bad before he took over
good article
very fair points
it's one of those situations where perception doesn't match the facts.
He's a good manager. Very good.
But somehow his achievements have been made out to be much larger than what they actually are.

Tbh, i don't really know.
I just feel there are more able managers than Moyes about and everyone can list three or four - between, whilst i wholly respect Mourinho's achievement, i don't want him anywhere near United.
