Say you owned your own company from tomorrow, how would you run it?

Hard? no internet ect

Or laid back, allow certain privileges?

Satrtign a new job in August. Went for an interview and they showed me where I would be sitting. Large office with 3 people in but we can all see what each other is doing . First thing came to mind when they were showing me the room was how if I can access ja606 without anyone seeign me. Will be difficult
____________

Will there be windows in the office? You can get those screen protector things that mean people can't see your screen unless sat directly in front of it and claim it's to stop glare.

I would run my own company in a fairly easy going manner. As long as the work gets done, I wouldn't care about anything else. I believe it is important to have a jovial atmosphere at work because at the end of the day, happy workers are productive workers.

"Slides instead of stairs, bikes to ride, have a fackin laugh for 3 weeks of the month and then graft."

Yeah, when you have your first billion dollars in cash.
Actually having a previous client in Mountain View (Google HQ) that was a classic Silicon Valley startup, the reality is quite different.

Galv would be making em sign chittys to get a pen from the stationary cupboard (and I've worked for those kind too) .

I think a lot of companies are scared to really enforce their internet policy by pulling someone out and firing them for two simple reasons:

1. That staff member would point out one other person who they know has been using the internet 9-5 instead of working and so they'd be in trouble and would list a few more names. Before you know it half the company would be out of work and looking to sue.

2. There isn't one person in the company as far up the hierarchy you go that hasn't wasted time scouring the internet. He who is without sin cast the first stone.
