Thing is shaw moves his foot unnaturally with the follow through. Looks like he tries to catch him rather than naturally just going where the follow through takes him

You cannot mean that
Think yellow was the right call
Jurgen Klopp in control of VAR tonight. Jose and Klopp's bitching has had an effect. Shaw gets the ball. Maguire's foul was minimal and soft to say the least. Chris Wood does those kind of headed challenges all the time when he scores headers. It's not a non contract sport.

And that’s exactly the problem with slow motion. It makes things look more intentional when any common sense will tell you that’s absurd given the speed it happened at.

Generally if you’re late to a tackle having lunged in you may get a touch on the ball on the way down into someone shin, it appeared full speed Shaw gets to the ball while his foot is still in an upward (kicking motion) trajectory in which case he was never not going to come into contact with the player too. Looked a lot worse slowed down. No way a red imo.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You’re on a hiding to nothing trying to explain this here.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not a red but a clear foul imo
Jamie Redknapp will clear this all up lads don’t worry
Anyone got links to these controversial decisions so I can see if the view I’ve alway already settled on is the correct one?

I haven’t seen this incident but getting the ball is irrelevant if the player has used excessive force which could inflict injury on the player.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Which absolutely wasn't the case.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why isn’t it? Your bodyweight at speed, studs up, on someone else’s leg (not even foot) is almost the dictionary definition for me
Jamie says he’s lucky so it’s not a red

The fact the ref didn’t even call a foul is absolutely shocking

If you punch someone or Kung fu kick someone in a phase of play thats later deemed void because it’s pulled back for an earlier foul, do you get away with it?
Referees should not be permitted to watch incidents like that in slow motion.

No, because that is violent conduct. You can get sent off for that at anytime.

End of discussion.
Have to jump for headers now like penguins with your arms down by your side
Shaw literally wins the ball. He literally kicks the ball on to him. He can't stop the momentum. Stupid stupid rule. What's he supposed to do? Freeze in the air the millisecond he wins the ball?
Ref lost control, he has had a shocker.

Touching the ball isn’t winning it fairly
