Proverbs: "if you become wise you become wise in your own behalf, but it you have ridiculed you will bear it, just you alone".

Gudnait pals.
Enjoyed the discussion.
Perhaps we could do better next time in getting closer to this truth we all want to learn.

God loves his children, that's why he sends his messengers to sexually abuse 9 year old altar boys.

Okay he signed off with a somewhat positive message so lets not mock him...

Earl

Those are not God's messengers!
" not all who call me lord lord will enter into the kingdom of the heavens but only those who do the will of my father in heaven.
I tell you on that day many will say to me lord lord did we not heal the sick in your name, and preach in your name. And I will tell them "I never knew you. Get away from me you wicked people" says Jesus about these false representatives that have brought reproach on Christianity.

Darwin's theory of evolution was referred to by scholars of his time as the "Mohammadan theory of evolution of man from lower forms". Basically his theory is of Islamic origin. Contrary to popular belief the theory of evolution never stated that man evolved from apes.

I'm not christian but even I know those men aren't referred to as messengers, pedos or not.

People have free will, it's what you do with that freedom that counts. That fits into a religious and non religious context.

They read fairy tales in primary school so religion in secondary school is the natural progression.

I personally believe it's a good idea. children need to know about other faiths and cultures to prevent them becoming ignorant and narrow minded. Informing children about different religions is not going to make them follow that religion. I remember learning about many religions such as Islam, Hinduism, Judaism, Sikhism and Buddhism in school and it hasn't affected my agnosticism, just given me a more acceptant view on the world.

Just finished this thread. Good way to kill time.

Everyone cherry picking things that support their view. Which is expected. Reminds me of when Athiest speakers debate with Religious Speakers. The Audience, will pretty much say their man won (Athiests will say the athiest speaker won, and the religious people will save vice versa).

There are many people making assumptions about the other and say many generalisations and then accuse each other of it. Not many "sane" voices in these debates.

Still interesting to read and kill time.

You read all 44 pages!?!?!?!?!?!?

Yes, I had time to kill, so it was this or playing FM.

It's iamusing to read. The topic the OP posted was always going to be side-tracked as it includes religion. There is a lot of ignorance and/or arrogance on both sides and you can tell that from reading this but pretty much it boils down to each side basically belittling the other.

Of course, there are some decent posters/comment, but most aren't.

I like the way the OP stated in his very first sentence "I don't intend to start a religion war here but I just wanted peoples thoughts on this"

EPIC fail, but well intentioned nonetheless

Or maybe that was the OP's plan from the beginning, Keep It Greasey (U1396)!
