Antagonism aside, I rate Liverpool more than most United fans. I've been saying you'll win the title since January.
You say Suarez and Sturridge had quiet games but between them they won 2 penalties and scored the 3rd. We had no answer to their pace running at us.
We had Carrick in CM who while a very good player is useless against pace. It's not like we have any world class CM's to choose from.
Tactics are important but people are forgetting that they only do so much. The players on the pitch need to follow the script.
Rafael needed to keep his arms down.
Jones needed to not charge in like a bull.
Vidic needed to stay on his feet.
Mata needed to pass rather than hold onto the ball too long.
RVP needed to take his chances
Evra needed to remember how to track back
etc.
Tactics don't stop those players do what they did.

Well, in case you forgot we did beat Sunderland. And with seconds to go DDG fumbled the ball after Sunderland had their first shot on target in the whole 120 minutes.
Unless you think Moyes forgot to give DDG tactical instruction to hold the ball?
But you said yourself MuDD, it's cup football, anything can happen.

I cannot even come close to understanding anyone who believes Ferguson - the man who didn't finish outside the top three for how many years - would suddenly be 'struggling to finish 4th'.
On that basis alone, I don't think it's worth contributing any further.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Cool story bro.
I guess that crazy machine that SAF invented last season where he stops other teams like Chelsea, City, Liverpool and Arsenal from gaining points against other teams was broken.
We may well have finished in the top 4 under SAF this season but as there is only 6 points separating the top 4 at this moment and with an injured RVP it's not hard at all to imagine United being in that 6 point gap and having doubts as to whether or not we'd finish in the top 4.

Jones needed to not charge in like a bull - You put a man in front of and behind the attacker.
Vidic needed to stay on his feet - You push the defence higher up the pitch to avoid giving away penalties for last ditch tackles.
Mata needed to pass rather than hold onto the ball too long - You implement a system where each player always has two players to pass to within 15 yards.
RVP needed to take his chances - You create more than two half chances.
Evra needed to remember how to track back - Evra was exposed the whole game and has been for some time at Utd. There is no-one any fan can name who is an automatic starter at left wing.

No this is the point, players' weaknesses cause them to make mistakes. A good manager puts plans (tactics) into place to mitigate those weaknesses and play to their strengths. So if you have small defenders you prevent the ball from coming in by pressuring with two men. If you have slow forwards you do not try and spring the offside trap.

Tactics are irrelevant in football. I do not know where you get this crap from.
The players just go out there and run around
The league is very similar to last year. The big sides are dropping points just like they did last year. If we went on a run like we did last year with Fergie we would have won the league. The reason it's so tight this year is because no side is going unbeaten to the extent we did last year. It's not necessarily because they have become so much better, it's just we are not their dominating.
You try too hard MuDD. Quite amusing really.

Like I said, SAF may well have had us in the top 4. But I said 'struggled' which implies that it would have beenb a big challenge for us to finish in the top 4.
Nowhere did I say he wouldn't have us there. But as usual Winston misses the point.
Even Benched who I debate with quite strongly sees how good the current top 4 are and understands my point.

2) As for your question about the fans wanting SAF levels of time, you are just playing silly buggers.
Please find me one fan on here who wants Moyes to have 5/6 years and then i'll answer your question.
You try too hard MuDD. Quite amusing really.

Would SAF have magically stopped Liverpool and Arsenal from winning all the games they did against teams that aren't called Manchester United?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
No but he would have stopped (non-magically) West Brom, Newcastle, Spurs and Everton from beating us at home.

Rafael needed to keep his arms down. - You stop the ball coming in.

My mistake, I forgot players are immune to criticism.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Tactics are irrelevant in football.

Benched/Winston
Like I said, SAF may well have had us in the top 4. But I said 'struggled' which implies that it would have beenb a big challenge for us to finish in the top 4.
Nowhere did I say he wouldn't have us there. But as usual Winston misses the point.
Even Benched who I debate with quite strongly sees how good the current top 4 are and understands my point.
