Luckily the Glazers have never anticipated renaming OT, Woodward has reiterated it many times and Keys is known for speaking utter shít anyway
I just thought, if something imminent is gonna happen surely the Glazers must be telling the shareholders first hence the price rising so high?
i would have no problem with renaming old trafford for a good sum of money
Re-naming it now won't make any difference, fans will still call it OT and the club will get a much needed cash boost.
It's worth thinking about if the right offer comes along.
There are big rumours about Microsoft redeveloping the Bernabeu and changing the stadium name.
-----
It should be OT that gets Microsoft – the Glazers might like reinstalling windows.

It really is just a made up bunch of numbers that mean nothing. Just a game for rich people to play.

The only 'right offer' is if a company called Old Trafford comes along.
Relax guys....it's just markets bouncing back after last couple of weeks downward trend.
BTW just came back from onsite interview at Goldman Sachs. Hope I make it
People say they'd be furious but it would die down.
If in 2003, i said to you that an american would buy the club with borrowed money and put United in huge debts, you'd have laughed and said "that's me done then".
But look what happened. Apart from a few thousand who went off to FC or the ones who just didn't renew their tickets, the VAST majority are still here.
Football is about $$$$$$ just as much as tradition now.
The cynical side of me actually thinks the Naming of the SAF stand was the first step. A attempt to soften the blow if yo will.
Within next 5 years, I wouldn't be shocked at all to see the stadium and MORE sponsored in some shape or form.
With ffp stadium name changes will be coming thick and fast; this is one thing you need to brace yourself for. It's nothing to get upset about. It's not like they are changing the name of the club.

Stretty, that's a good point about FFP.

I think quite the opposite.
Look at the old skool clubs. Their stands are named after all their own legends. Jimmy Armfield stand, Trevor Brooking Stand, etc. etc. Its when they call them (insert sponsors name) Stand we have to start worrying.
Dont quite understand why after all these decades the South isn't called The Sir Matt Busby stand and the East called the Sir Bobby stand. Ill settle for the West to remain as The Stretty.

I agree. But only if it benefits the club.
We're going to be bringing around half a billion from the Nike and Chevrolet deals. It remains to be seen how much of that goes to the club and how much goes to the Glazers.
I'm genuinely not if the opinion that the Glazers are doing a bad job. Far from it. But with all the hundreds of millions of pounds brought in from the dozens of sponsorship deals we have, I don't see how selling the rights to the stadium is a necessary move.
That's true, Rob. I think it'll only be necessary if all our rivals are making similar deals that could see us fall behind.
That said, the club might feel it's necessary to try and steal a march on them by doing so.
Not sure about renaming the stadium, but how would you guys feel about re naming one of the stands? The Nike Stand/ End doesn't seem so bad for say 100 million

Perhaps Moyes has been sacked. That will lift the spirits of many Utd fans, shareholders and sponsors.
The Utd brand has been damaged significantly under the chosen one

You not a Moyes fan then? You should let people know.
Well if they rename Old Trafford and use the resultant cash to reduce our debt then I can live with that.
With the debt gone, I would feel more comfortable and confident that we haven't come to our Liverpool moment as yet.
