Liverpool have accepted a £14m offer from Sunderland for striker Fabio Borini but the 23-year-old is set to reject the move and fight for his place at Anfield. Newcastle Chronicle

Interesting if true!

The lads showing desire, you can't blame him for that.

Have a feeling he fecked his career up signing for us, should have stayed at roma!!

I still think Borini will make it.

I hope he does, if only to annoy a certain poster from another team.

Like all things I reckon it's about money.

His agent is talking up the clubs he thinks Borini can play for as if he is better than Sunderland (which he hasn't proved in his career to date).

Putting pressure on Sunderland to pay him high wages I reckon.

All part of the game and I still think he will end up leaving.

I don't think there's a conspiracy theory here. I just think he'd rather stay and fight for a place and for me if that's his attitude, considering his age and performances last season, I'd let him do that.

However it will come down to a talk with the manager if expect. Where do I fit in your plans? Is that acceptable for me or would I rather have guaranteed first team football? From what BR was saying the other day it looked like he left it up to Borini, like he did with Shelvey and Henderson.

Always said fair play to anyone who wants to fight for their place, and Rodgers has said that players who do well will get their chance - as proven by the youngsters currently coming through.

I'm not sure where he will fit in though. Sturridge will start then playing the system we do Borini still has, in my opinion, Sterling, Coutinho, Markovic, Lambert and Lallana, ahead of him in the pecking order.

Hopefully we tie up this Moreno deal with all this cash.

We could even buy a RB to replace Johnson for next season

We've been linked to some Spanish RB, Manquillo, on loan seems a bit of a weird move as we've just loaned out Wisdom.

Not a strange move at all, wisdom needs time to make his mistakes, better for us he does it at other clubs.we are a little light at fullback anyway, both johnson and flanagan can play on the left if needed, therefore if we can't find an acceptable left back, we will sign a right back instead and use them to cover Enrique/new rb..

Wisdom will come back in a year, when johnsons contract expires as a long term successor, but even then his future lies in central defence and we would still need a 4th full back.

Use them as in flanno/johnno

Borini must have gone on tour to help with his bags/clean his boots

Glen Johnson could still leave this summer.

QPR were linked previously.

Flanagan and Manquillo then to battle for the first team spot.

Manquillo is Isco's best mate, that's why he's signing.

Has anyone even seen Manquillo play? The guy has been spending most of his time playing for a B side.

Manquillo on loan with a £4m fee to pay if we want him perm next season. Not bad business.

Similar to the cissokho loan then.

Very quick and maruads the flank like a proper modern day fullback. Great athleticism. More of an attacking RB than a defensively solid one. Strange deal if you ask me.
