Napoli got greedy. His agent got greedy. He took advice from his agent and everyone was left twiddling their thumbs

I wouldn't say that's baggage

posted 6 days, 17 hours ago

But he's lived in Italy and Turkey now. Whichever way you slice it that's going to be a lot of luggage

Lots of people taking that angle but I am yet to see what baggage he has exactly.

He's been professional and scored goals throughout the season...it's only now we're seeing his name a lot because it's silly season

I don't know, something just doesn't add up with Osimhen Napoli are not an innocent party here, they fecked him over without doubt.

But they were also very, very keen to get shot of him. A player that had scored 76 in 133 for them, they didn't give him a squad number. And the only club who would take him, even on a loan so virtually zero risk, was Gala.

It just doesn't make sense. The only logical conclusion is clubs didn't want him because of off-field reasons, because on field he's probably the best striker currently available.

Osimhen second touch is a tackle. I have seen him getting a red card because the ball bounced off his feet and tried to win the ball back with a two footed studs up tackle. The guy is an atrocious footballer.

posted 6 days, 17 hours ago

None of us will truly ever know what really happened. I also said him and his agent aren't exactly saints.

I'd say since Gala though, he's behaved in a professional manner

Try doing some research first before making such conclusions. Similar things have happened to many players in the past without this inference being made.

I mean, Osimhen was great under Spalleti and it can be argued his departure and the arrival of Conte was the last straw and what made the difference. It would make far more sense than your theory tbh. There's other more plausible explanations too.

I saw that every week from Rooney.

Napoli are notoriously difficult to buy players from though aren't they. Fairly sure 4za has written a little in here about Osimhen before, from memory I think he said it's was a little of all parties being at fault that resulted in his move to Turkey

Spending huge on Wirtz made me think we'd go for the free option of Jonathan David, though I know very little about him and only saw him that time they played us

That's just patently wrong. It's absurd to say he's an atrocious footballer.

The guy is a finisher. If you look at his goals, the majority are one hit finishes. He makes good runs, is often in the right place at the right time and is very, very good in the air.

He won't suit every team and I'm not even advocating for him in terms of joining us. But it's ridiculous to say he's atrocious.

Napoli rejected multiple bids for Osimhen, until Gala met their valuation.

Come to think of it I've not seen much of Osimhen either...

Didn't Kvara leave on bad terms too? No one said he had a attitude issue. Wonder why

I've read the reports on him leaving Napoli thanks. But I'm not biting, you want someone to have a row with then wait for Robbing to log on.

posted 6 days, 16 hours ago

I'm not trying to have a row tbh. Apologies if I'm disrespectful but am I not making a considerable point?

posted 6 days, 16 hours ago

Several players wanted to leave Napoli when the manager left. Osimhen tried to force it in the summer which resulted in him not being allowed near the team, understandably so, in my opinion. When his move didn’t materialise by the time the transfer window shut, he was left with a loan move to a league that still had its window open.

I don’t think it shows an attitude problem and can understand it from both sides. When you start selling players, others want to leave when they think they have less chance of winning trophies. You also don’t want players around the other players who are so clear they want out as they may follow suit.

People need to take into account that Conte was in charge as well, he is as mad as a box of frogs, I bet he has some blame in it as well.

posted 6 days, 16 hours ago

My understanding is that the perceived poor attitude of Osimhen is nothing to do with off field things, but rather his temperament on the pitch.

Looks like Napoli offered him a contract with more money but only up to 2026 meaning there was pressure for him to go or they lose him much less this summer or for nothing next summer. That's why they pushed him out in the end IMO. Napoli put themselves and Osimhen in a bad situation.

I honestly don't see what that would be based on either.

Osimhen is a no from me, purely for the fact that he’ll also feck off to the AFCON in the middle of the season every 2 years.
