I agree on the CDM, and most of the normal ones amount is have been saying this for about half a decade, but I reckon that means AMA leaves unfortunately.

I think we’d be in a better place if we’d signed a DM over Isak but would infinitely rather have both, hopefully we go in for one of Hjulmand, Wharton, Anderson, Baleba etc in January.

AMA is a fabulous player but you struggle to get him and Wirtz into a team.

Wouldn't want him to go but a destroyer sitting alongside Grav probably would make the most sense now Wirtz is here.

We sell Mac and then we have no midfielder who can break lines with his passing. We need the destroyer next to Mac.

We need a defensive midfielder without anyone leaving.

Grav & Mac can still work at home & away against the bottom half of the table

I don’t think it’s possible to keep that many players happy tbh. Maybe attitudes are changing towards minutes a bit though.

Hasn't been the same since that injury towards the end of the season that they've kept hush hush for some reason.

Feels like Slot is trying to play him into some form but probably just needs some time out the XI for a while

Been thinking about this but I do think Mac is the odd one out this season - nowhere near his tenacity unfortunately and he does seem to be taking a lot of time to get back to speed.

Early on I thought he was in the same zones Wirtz was in and they were both suffering for it, and more recently I just think he needs a break but he isn't getting it. For all our troubles, worth remembering the Utd loss was first game back after an international break where we always suffer a little. That said, should Mac, who isn't in great form (despite his goals for Argentina) and who travelled a tonne during the break have started over Jones who had no travel and was completely fresh?

We're trying to play players into form, hopefully that sorts us out later this season but blimey we sure are suffering for it now

His birthday today. I still believe in him!

We had a CDM last season. He won young player of the season and was one of the best performing midfielders in the league.

For some reason that I really struggle to understand, Slot has changed his role this year. And unsurprisingly we look significantly more open.

I certainly wouldn't turn down an Anderson or a Baleba; but I get the feeling that if Slot is still here in 5 yrs time then the same posts will be going up - we need a CDM.

Rather than convincing another team to part with one of their best players mid-season, just playing Grav as he did last year seems a much simpler solution.

Things really aren’t that bad yet.

It's all about defending as a team especially when the ball is out of possession. We don't press like a unit together. Slot needs to get the right balance upfront in and out of possession.

If we do buy a DM I would look for a Mascherano/Alonso hybrid. Wharton could be a great signing but he would cost a huge amount.
