Look at United with Van Gall and ETH style of play. Focus more on possession and now maybe Slot wants to implement that style with his own players as the Klopp players move on.

I was debating Gakpo on the left and Ekitike up front.

Not a fan of playing our most in form number 9 wide left. Gakpo is the man in form in terms of goals too from the left. Rest I agree with.

I’d go with the same back four again.

ETH has known for counter-press at Ajax wasn't he? He was a disciple of the Pep 5-second regain possession target. He was just shiiiiit.

It's a fair point about recent managers though, their biggest managerial success of recent years have probably been van Gaal and Hiddink - both were structural and possession focused.

I read a whole load of stuff last year when Slot was announced and I'm sure his Feyenoord side were known as a pressing machine. Not sure why he'd move away from it now after success at both Feyenoord and his first season with us.

Frimpong RB and Robbo LB a must imo
So is Jones in midfield. Then Wirtz, Chiesa and Ekitike starts with Salah as our front 4.

Think that's the only changes required tbh

I'd personally favour treating players consistently. If you're dropping Salah for poor-form then Isak has to be dropped too imo.

I think Frimpong, Wirtz and Ekitike should all be dead certs with their German experience

I’m stand by the fact we really didn’t look fit at the start of the season.

Not having 17-hamstring injuries is great, but there has to be a middle ground.

Looks good to me, but Gakpo for Ekitike so we have some continuity in attack for me. Wirtz and Frimpong have prob played Frankfurt so many times

For a big guy, Ekitikes pace is surprising. The way he ran through and got his body across and In front of the defender was excellent and he’s always got a cool head. Someone was saying he looks a bit like Torres and I can see that, has to be our first choice 9 from now on.

Isak felt his groin which is a shame considering he was close to match fitness

He had some groin issues the season before last too

Isak should be eased in slowly until he is match fit. I would play Chiesa, Ekitike, Gakpo and Wirtz from now on.
