This tactic to bowl short has been horrendous. Aussie batsman want England to bowl short which allows them to slog. They have been bought up knowing how to play short ball

Like I said before the tournament this is going to be carnage for the bowlers,, 330 and 340 already in 2 games.
Its clearly not going to be easy for the bowlers. you cant bowl any length full or short..
But deciding to bowl first on a very good wicket is wrong.
Only chance you have is getting a big score and applying the pressure.
just because theres a teeny weeny of cloud cover.. this aint Manchester or leeds..its Australian conditions.
England wont get anywhere near this score. the only chance England had was at the toss.

Might be the worst but 3 dot balls at the end. Much more important! But the root catch was great and Broad was gettting stick just before from the whole ground so was good for him!

Couldnt agree more, patheic bowling from him and woakes in particular. In what world is bowling short a good idea?? Maybe against sub continent sides on fast pitches but even then they know its coming!!!

Does Finn ever get wikets when we actually need them?? You can be sure that Starc and Johnson will.

We seem to be tactically clueless in this format of the game...........Pathetic last 10 overs from England.

lets face it chris woakes aint upto it as an international odi bowler.
he may take 5 against the minnows and look good. But hes to short and wide and bowlers way to many slower balls.
Finn is a myth.. never seen anything in him.. started off good in his career.. ud think by now he would be a stand out performer..
Cant really complain about Anderson or Broad.. they are excellent test bowlers. not easy odi cricket for any bowler these days.
Broad is an attacking bowler so goes for loads of runs. But he does have spells of taking wickets.

We have no one who can bowl yorkers, I hate to agree with Botham but in this case he is right. The Aussies will have Starc at least doing that. No doubt Maxwell will get away with going for 4-5 an over bowling his filth too.

how many will Bell get before he gets caught at midd off trying to go for a massive shot?.. I recon 10.. that's after a lovely cover drive for 4 and another 4 off his legs to the square leg boundry. Moeen ali will get 40 and they get caught in the slip area trying to drive off the back foot..
Root will end up the top scorer with 70. Morgan will chip the ball over the short 3rd man for 4 then get bowled for 9.
England will finish all out for 260.

Add to that the fact that we look for 10 overs between Moin Ali and Joe Root and it is quite depressing really...
