Whole film is quality. Not just the action, but the drama and the characters too. Good humour and pure entertainment.

I just thought the first half was nothing special at all.

Jennifer Connelly just seemed out of place, most of the first half was just an echo of the first film.

from when the intensity of doing the run in under 3 mins @ top gun kicks in its awesome. The last third of the film was superb, the jet pawrn and dogfighting is truly amazing.

I thought the Connelly relationship was better than the one he had in the first one with Charlie. The whole dynamic with Rooster was great (pulling his papers because of the promise to his mother, etc), as was the way they used Iceman in the movie.

Agreed about the dogfighting, etc

the dynamic with rooster didnt really take effect til pretty much that moment when he tells him he isnt good enough as a pilot. til then I think it follows the trend of what I said ... a bit meh.

its from that point on that it becomes a fantastic film IMO.

I fell asleep the first time I went to the cinema to see it after a bout 40mins.... had to go back again.

But you stayed awake for the entirety of Barbie!!
