Hope you took a few toilet breaks Blarms. I couldn't do a three and a half hour movie in the cinema without an interval.

Watching it on netflix

Stephen Graham has already stolen my favourite scene so far as expected. And it's with Pacino

Got through the film

Fantastic and worthy addition to Scorsese's pantheon of masterpieces

Now I want to see Knives Out and Parasite

Finally watched Joker last night. Really good movie albeit at times quite a gruelling watch with it being more of a character study of one person's descent into madness. Great acting of course.

I didnt think much of the final big scene of the talk show on first viewing

But on rewatch it's a great climax

Watched an hour or so of The Irishman last night...pretty decent

I'll do some more later

posted on 29/11/19

Going to watch half of The Irishman tonight then the rest tomorrow. I am a huge Scorsese and Pacino fan, so I’m thoroughly looking forward to this.

I didn't care that much for The Irishman. Thought it started alright and the first hour or so was fairly promising but the middle act and third act were dull and felt like they went on forever.

The movie could easily have been stripped down to about two, maybe two and a half hours. And it didn't have any of the memorable moments or lines that the likes of Goodfellas and Casino had.

Really wanted to like it as I'm a big Scorcese fan and I was really excited to see Pacino finally star in a Scorcese pic. But watching this movie made me feel like this collaboration should have been done 20 years ago.

The best movies of the year were either the Lighthouse or Midsommar.
