That'll be that then

Oz rushing back in, presumably a quick turnaround, bash a quick 200 and give us nearly 2 days to bat out
----------------------------------------------------------------------
don't think they even need 200, but the forecast looks decent, and there is plenty of time left, 200 before lunch tomorrow is easily achievable.

We'll have a storming session here....

Agreed - but leaving a target in the region of 350-400 would leave England with the possiblity of actually chasing it down with 2 full days to bat; in this position Aus are so far ahead they might as well shut the door entirely, put it out of England's reach and still have plenty of time to bowl them out

Aussies proving again what an easy surface this is to bat on... Pathetic from us

posted on 18/7/15

this pitch is pathetic. lords has been one of the sh*.** pitches in world cricket for a very long time now. no matter how much grass they leave it just turns into a flat track with nothing for spinners and pacers

having said that england are going to find it extremely to save this match.

Need a Cook double century and another ton from one of our slow scorers to save this. And, a little help from rain.

It is possible to save this test as a partnership can bat 1 or sessions on this wicket. The key is not getting 3 or 4 wickets blown away by the new ball.

It's fine benny it's pretty rare we find ourselves in a position of 30-3.

Pitch still looks very easy to bat on. Think England should be able to hold.out for 5 sessions unless u do stupid stuff.

Lyth, Ballance and Bell need to prove they have some bottle and fight to stand up to the cause.

Just a thought about bowlers. Anderson, Broad & co. know they have 2 sessions tops to bowl. After that they put their feet up for the day.

Accepting that the wicket is a dog, how do they approach those 2 sessions to cause maximum problems to the Aussies who want to push their score along?

Without a shadow.......!!!!

Bell and lyth have so far contributed a dropped catch and meek innings each to the cause.lyths being a bit of a dolly.

Bell doesn't seem to come under the scrutiny as other players.
