Some softness coming through with this whole affair from our fan base.
So many had clamoured for a world superstar to be signed at the expense of our own, battle-tried players or the shrewd, personality-based signings Sir Alex used to make. If the man was worth the money, Fergie would pay it. If they weren't, he wouldn't. Regardless of talent.
Angel Di Maria has proved to everyone that just signing the expensive stars isn't the way to win titles and be successful. You have to have players who are strong, and can fight when needed. Who and grind and claw and scratch their way to success and glory. I hope the club learn from their mistakes. We seem to have, looking at the players we've brought in this summer.
Darmian has been dumped by a big club before and fought his way into the national team and finally back to the big time. Bastian Schweinsteiger is a world cup winning captain of his national team and was man of the match in the final. A real leader for the dressing room. Morgan Schneiderlin has played as far down as league 1 in this country, and through ability and determination to not give up now represents France and is going to be our first choice in the middle of the park many would suspect. Memphis Depay is a winner first and talent second. He's arrogant and extremely driven, and has I believe an immense future in the game.
We're signing winners who've proven their personal calibre or triumphed through adversity and against the odds, or are showing that they have the right make-up in Depay's case to be megastars.
We're signing winners, because we are determined to win.

The saga is finally over.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It was over days ago
-----------------
And what if he'd fallen and ruptured is ACL before signing the contract. Would the saga have still been over? Nope.
I'm interested to see him reveal everything about his time at United as well, it's bound to happen.

or maybe the Scouse ones that broke into Gerrard's house and had his wife pinned up against the wall?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, if you don't pay your pharmaceutical bill...
We've cleared some big names from the wage bill this summer, I think Rooney is our only highest earner of £200k+ a week now. There's space there for a top signing.
The combined sum of all Di Maria's transfer fees (Benfica to Madrid to United to PSG) is £125m.
Is he the most expensive player ever? Can't think of anyone who tops him.
Good riddance. Biggest flop we've ever had.

Robbie Keane would give him a run.
Wonder where ADM will play for PSG too, Cavani and Zlatan are guranteed starters obviously.. So I guess he'll be battling Lucas and Lavezzi for the RW role.
The fallout of the Di Maria situation, is that Ashley Young, everybody's whipping boy and scapegoat, completely outperformed him for seven eighths of last season and earned his place at the club.
He's always first on the training ground, never complains and always gives his all for the team. You can see why Sir Alex bought him. He's a real asset for the club in a lot of ways, even though he's not a starter most of the time. He doesn't expect to start, but it doesn't stop him from working as hard as he can to get on that team sheet, and he knows what a privilege it is to get to be a Manchester United footballer.

how is he the biggest flop weve ever had???
we havent lost that much on him, and his goals and assists at the start of the season put us on our way to a top 4 spot.
They've got a good squad, but I can't see them win a European trophy under Blanc.
Replacing Lavezzi I'd guess Arab.
Gutted personally, would have liked to see how he would have fared this season, but he obviously wanted out
Dink, he's a flop because he was the most expensive player we ever signed who spent a huge amount of last season on the bench even though he was fit. His shot to scoring ratio was around the 160th best/worst in the league, some of his performances were unbelievably awful and to cap it all off he didn't even wanna play for us and after 11 months has been sold.
The guy was a flop.
I think that Ibra has cost more in accumulative transfer fees to be fair.

And yet still had as good a stats as Nani did when he had 6 good months with us. My God, Nani must have been terrible.
No one expected anything from Bebe though. ADM was coming off his best ever season and gave us some god awful performances. His body language was a disgrace for someone wearing the #7 shirt
