Seems to me that if we did away with actually naming shows after characters and a weak storyline and just had countless flashbacks of Anakin/Luke/Leia talking to force ghosts and toss in a saber fight and probably just referenced the Clone Wars here and there then everyone would be happy.

Andor actually highlights what I have been complaining about. We don't need to keep dipping into old characters to make the super fans happy. We need to move away from that and keep it fresh, there is so much potential.

I felt the last episode was a waste because we had zero need for force ghost talk or whatever it was with Anakin and Ahsoka when it added nothing. Would much rather have seen Thrawn, Baylan and a host of others get the screen time they deserve so this story can progress.

We have about 100 minutes of showtime left I guess in this series. Hopefully it delivers.

It might well highlight your point that you don't need well known characters to keep fans happy, just interesting stories within the wider SW world.

But it also contradicts the rant about people on here just wanting old characters and lightsabres. It's not true.

Most (if not everyone) will agree with you that they can produce great shows with new ideas and perspectives. It's just people also like to see the characters they've grown to love in shows too. Nothing wrong with a mix of both.

I agree that we should explore new stories and time periods but the force,lightsabers,space battles are the foundation for SW and regardless of the era, those factors will always be involved and when done well, they are amazing to see.

Mandalorian season 2 disproves your point. They told a new story but also brought in elements from older movies, which provided the fan service moments. There is nothing wront with fan service, as long as it's done well.

Episode 5 was an important episode for Ahsoka and her growth as a character. This is progression in the story. Anakin showed her that she needed to live or die. Ahsoka was holding onto the guilt about failing Anakin and failing in the CW. Her whole journey was forged in combat and she no longer wanted to fight. Her beating Anakin in the end and not striking him down showed that she hadn't allowed her guilt to overcome her. She was now free of it. There is a tangible difference between her in the previous episodes and her after the Anakin dream. She's more at peace.

It's the lack of respect and consideration.

Honourable channels put the word spoiler in their title and they'll post a screenshot of their own face as a reaction.

It’s the sad times we live. Need to have that clickbait.
Need the clicks.
They wanna be first and get it in.. it’s pathetic.
You see it with football fan channels with click bait headlines. But there’s nothing to spoil there. With Movies, once it’s spoiled it’s spoiled. And they don’t get that.
At least give a man like 24 hrs ffs!

Even Disney have been putting spoilers into their art for the episodes within 24 hours or so. They were desperate to be able to advertise Anakin

That’s rubbish… I mean I know you cant keep secrets, but less that 24hrs and they did that.
God knows what they’ve done after todays Ep

It may not have been 24 hours but I remember flicking through a day or two after and seeing Anakin on the banner at the top where they were advertising the show

I'm waiting on Cinci to drop his 3/10 rating.

Honestly solid episode - for me it's a 7.5, but it's going to have the same issue that I had with Mando 3 and Ob1: this should have been episode 2 or maybe 3 in a series with 8 episodes. And much like Mando, I feel the last 2 episodes are gonna be rushed. Honestly over 3 series we have had maybe 8 episodes of story related to the thing they were supposedly about. And although I love the fan service Cinci is 100% right, it had fook all to do with anything and we could have just fished Ahsoka out of the drink and saved an episode........but also fook Cinci cos I loved loved loved the fan service and
it was also the best bit of pure SW we have had since Mando S2

But I digress - basically what I am saying is the overal pacing across the last 3 big series has been fricking awful and we should be getting much better content. We've ended up with a cash grab with 10 year old girl power and 2 filler seasons, like now I know we aren't getting an Ahsoka story, we are getting Rebels S5, that should have been tied up in a couple of hours.

Think Cinci will like this episode tbh.

Can't argue with this being Rebels S5, I think they've admitted as much themselves. Not too bothered on the pacing, I think they got it wrong with the first few episodes, but that was difficult circumstances trying to set up the plot for a new audience despite being a continuation of another story. Since then I've found each episode a satisfying watch in itself.
