Why get rid of Buxton and keep Shotton? I know who I would prefer as cover for our central defenders. What has Dawkins done wrong? Moral is don't go away for international breaks.

I would rather have Pearce as a back-up on the bench but it seems he's agitating for first-team play to get himself in the Irish Euro squad. I guess the obvious thing would be to loan him out with 24-hour recall if we get injuries. I had wondered whether we might recall Rowson if we let Pearce go out on loan but he is staying at Rotherham until season's end.
Can't judge pearce except on his talent for sitting on a bench and picking up a large wage packet. His one appearance wasn't a great success. He should get another chance to impress on Saturday.
