I'm now near-certain that Corbyn voted Leave. Hear papers have more tomorrow.

Obvious

Wouldnt be surprised if Cameron did as well. Both were anti-EU until recently when they had to toe the party line.

I did say rumours. I'm not taking it as all going to happen, but it does raise a genuine point that there will be further changes in the EU which, particualrly if we had voted to remain, would further erode the sovereignty of the member states.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

That's quite a leap to be fair.

Brussels officials appear to have taken exception to Boris' article earlier on today and are adamant we can't be part of trade agreement whilst practicing points based system for immigration,

All guesswork. They can't get hold of any substantial proof.

Pretty much everybody else apart from me has ignored you, so good luck with that.

Europe will be hrt financially if we reduce our imports from them. For example, Britain is Germanys second biggest market after their own. Do you think their people will sit back and let them wipe out a large part of that business?

But Cameron's premiership basically depended on Remain victory.

Maybe he voted Leave as he thought they wouldn't win...

Highly predictable. We knew the rules before the vote, and we made our choice.

'...participating in the single market meant accepting EU rules, including the jurisdiction of the European court of justice, monitoring by the European commission and accepting the primacy of EU law over national law – conditions that will be anathema to leave advocates who campaigned on the mantra “take back control”.'

This is not new or revelatory.

Have I missed something here.

Was a Cameron or Corbyn vote worth a Million ordinary votes?

Third.

I'm not sure where this impression of no trade comes from though, we have made the choice to leave the EU so we aren't really in a strong bargaining position here. The key bit is not really us receiving Germanys goods, its them receiving ours and if we are just going to increase the trade deficit.

No, of course not, but would be pretty extraordinary if one of them voted against what they'd campaigned for.

I believe the tariffs apply to imports and exports. I heard on the radio the other day that we export 70% of the cars manufactured in this country and import 70% of the cars we buy. If German cars go up in comparison to ours we will buy less. We will buyb more made here and in other parts of the world like Japan. In fact as we wont have a tariff with the rest of the world they may get even cheaper in comparison. And outr cars will be cheaper to export with no tariffs to teh rest of the world.

To be fair, the whole point of the last couple of days is he didn't really campaign for it.

I think, should that happen, it would be quite easy for them to lay blame on the Brits and say they had no choice in the face of obstinance.

1. Boris does not speak for the UK Government.

2. I see lots of EU Diplomats making lots of extraordinary comments on behalf of the EU. No idea if any of them actually have any standing in the grand scheme of things. Merkel and Hollande are the ones who make the decisions.

And pre-EU, we had a 10% tarriff on those exports. Removing that is what enticed companies here in the first place, its not as if that is British companies that are producing those cars. Ford and Nissan have both already spoken about that.

If they are exporting the majority of their cars to Europe, which over half of the exports are, then where is the incentive to continue unless we manage to negotiate the same agreement?
