LIVE: Great Britain EU Referendum

People saying the EU doesn't give out the money, it's just the UKs money paid in then paid back out at lower figures are completely missing the point.

The poorest areas of the EU are given funds from the EU pot, the richest areas are net contributors while the poor areas are net beneficiaries.

Once out of the EU, do any of you believe that the Tories will take money from the richest areas of the country and redistribute this to the poorest (as the EU does)?

Slow clap for anyone who is deluded enough to believe they will.

Science (U19684)

The people of Manchester and Liverpool realised that and voted Remain.

Now the EU is custodians of the poor

What bollllllllllloccckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkks

So the EU doesn't receive money from the wealthiest areas and then redistribute this to the poorest areas?

You will come to appreciate that weare is very uninformed about everything.

Just read what he says and chuckle to yourself

You do get the impression that should a Labour government have been in no10, a lot of remainers wouldn't be particularly bothered about Brexit.

Coincidence or the real issue here?

That's slightly (emphasis on slightly) true in my case. The EU isn't perfect and while I think we're better off as part of a reformable EU it wouldn't be such an issue leaving if we weren't giving more power to the people causing the majority of issues in this country.

However, it certainly would not necessarily have to be a Labour government running the country for me to feel better about leaving the EU. It just needs to be a Gov that serves the people rather than themselves & big business, as well as giving far more respect to environmental protection.

Disagree, the concerns will still remain.

The only positive thing about a Labour govt being in power in a brexit is that the common man will not be as savaged as with the tories

I wouldn't say that's the case at all.

The biggest beneficiaries from our EU contribution are other countries, not our poorer areas.

The EU gives back approximately 1/3 of the figure we give them in grants.

This is like me giving you £300, you spending £100 on my kids and expecting me to be grateful

Some real Stockholm Syndrome going down here.

In 2020 you can elect someone who will have 3x that to spend on poorer areas....

If Labour members do the sensible thing and elect Owen Smith it may give them a chance.

If they vote Corbyn, they can kiss goodbye to having a chance at all and look forward to an unhealthy whopping Tory majoriry

Labour members did the right thing in a democracy and elected a leader.

Owen Smith and his ilk are doing the wrong thing and will pay dearly for it at the next GE

Like Britain did the right thing in a democracy and voted out?

Or does a plebiscite only suit you when its a comradely cause?

It will be a huge issue I am sure, and right on top of us leaving.

I have no issues with people voting to leave.

I have issues with people voting to leave the EU based on lies and blaming innocent immigrants.

You really should read what I post properly. It would stop you making silly statements.

Read this thread. I even gave conditions where I would have voted to leave.

I have been very clear about my position and my issues with the leave campaign

You can of course choose to ignore it but it is all here in black and white

Like how you would be petty and cut off your nose to spite your face to punish Britain if you were advising Merkel?

Or that you will laugh at the poor as it serves them right?

That kind of thing?

The problem with our democracy is you can get elected, or shape the direction of our nation, on the back of false promises & rhetoric. This has been proven recently. For example there's more regulation in advertising than there is in the promises made by MP's running for election.

Basically you are not allowed to advertise fizzy pop without scrutiny. Yet you can promise the moon on a stick, get elected, and then retract that promise the next day and that's fine apparently.

You have thrown your toys out of the pram as badly as anyone, and showed yourself as having a very spiteful and disdainful. Quite the elitist
