NC is Mike Pence too!

Any credibility this guy might have had has long gone.

The same with Christie, Guilliani and that dope Ben Carson.

One reason only. Both Trump and Clinton were awful opponents.

Well. They are their party's nominees.

Anyways, it's getting off topic here. My point is that people are sick and tired of sh't not progressing along due to Washington's incompetence and backdoor dealings. This dangerous notion is why Trump is so popular this past election cycle. The ones who are on the fence are probably ones like me. A person who questions whether or not Trump can lead the country with his temperament and extreme policies. I don't want to see a ripple effect on our constitution starting with the amending the 2nd amendment. A Hillary presidency will see to that IMO and who knows what can happen after that. BTW, she flipped flopped on her gun stances yesterday.

So yeah, hard to choice to make. I don't think it's the end of the world if Hillary gets in. GOP rebuild their party and get someone competent (Paul Ryan) to run in 2020 and win by a landslide. Don't think Hillary is gonna get much done in a 4 year cycle.

How did you think Ted Cruz lasted this long in the primaries? Or Bernie even?

Bernie only did as he wouldn't give up, Clinton was always way ahead

Rigged election, if anything, should enforce the notion that Washington has it's own inner circle and that we should do more to stop the greediness that runs through it.

.................

The flaw in this is that if Washington has it's own inner circle, that will not have any effect on the voting.

The voting is done at State level.

There was a video on how its apparently done by O'Keefe, pretty interesting

Not good is it? How America has ended up with these two running for the Presidency shows how bad the US political scene is at the moment.

I agree. This is mostly because the US political system makes it near on impossible to work.

If I were a swing voter with a tendency to lean to the right fiscally (and I am not ), I'd be looking at the Republicans and asking where their moderate candidates are.

If you look at the last three to drop out of the race for the Republican nomination (which I believe were Rubio, Cruz and Kasich), these are all still guys I'd never dream about considering voting for on their stances on social issues alone.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but all three are anti-abortion, anti-gun control, pro-complete immigration reform, and anti-federal legislation legalising same sexx unions. At least two of them do not believe in man made climate change.

Cruz is happy to share the stage with and embrace a pastor who says the word of God dictates that homosexuals should be put to death.

Rubio wants to curb death row appeals, doesn't want to enshrine the right to equal pay for women in law and says that "addressing global warming would destroy our economy."

Where are the candidates living in the 21st century? It seems that in response to the Democrats capturing the centre ground, the Republicans have just shifted further right in an attempt to differentiate, instead of doing what the Tories did to New Labour: meeting them on social issues to connect with younger people and those living in metropolitan areas, and challenging them on the economy.

They will need a good, long look at themselves after the trouncing Trump is going to get.

Meh, I don't agree with all of Rubio's stances on social issue but his ideas aren't extremely nuts.

I ended up voting Rubio in the primaries as I thought he was right winged but not extreme like Cruz. Kasich was a close second but he was never gonna win in Texas due to his moderate stances. Rubio can articulate his ideas clearly and was the best solution GOP had against Hillary.

I quite liked Rubio myself. I think he has the potential there to be a good politician. Sadly for him he did not show any passion until it was too late in the prinmaries.

The fact that Kasich is considered a moderate in the US says a lot about how far the US is from Western Europe on social issues.

You wouldn't get a death penalty advocate or anti-abortionist leading the Tories, for example.

He has done some good things on criminal justice reform (when he's not been signing death warrants); I know he revised the approach in Ohio, shifting the emphasis somewhat from punishment to rehabilitation (much to the chagrin of many right wing commentators) and spending money on treatment for addicts, which resulted in Ohio achieving the lowest recidivism rate in the States if I remember rightly.

But he was also largely responsible the abominable 19th century-esque piece of legislation that is Senate Bill 5.

Doesn't look good for her.
