It's an anti immigration slogan and that's the point I wanted to make. The sentiment was there before the phrase was commonly used. At some point they started using that phrase but that doesn't mean that's when the sentiment started.

Dare I say, anti-immigration was the biggest driver of Brexit and the Tories grip on power for the last 10 or so years of their leadership. Even if it's not the biggest it is still in the conversation.

With the last 2 in the Tory leadership sitcom going against Dim Cleverleys desire to "be normal", I think its fair to say anti-immigration rhetoric is about to re-explode (it's on a consistent simmer atm).
I'm sure we'll be hearing about backhander Bob wanting a referendum on the ECHR knowing full well we're done with referendums for a generation, he's an empty vessel making a lot of noise with zero substance.
