Has there ever been a more embarrassing person in British politics han Liz Truss?

She's sent a cease and desist letter to Starmer because he said she crashed the economy, and that it potentially contributed to her losing her MP election

What sociocultural developmentscheer me up I have the flu.
If you mean moving away from the madness that women can have coooocks and men can have babies surely that’s a positive move.

😂 quite

I have the same and was looking forward to reading some more comedy. Rosso getting a hardon at the idea of the demise of the United States is hilariously naive.

She’s delusional, desperately trying to salvage her reputation and stay relevant in some form.

He was suggesting civil war a while back. I’m over there in April in Austin so the war better wait until after I leave 🤣

No, no. He said there MIGHT be civil war. BIG difference 😂😂

People like him salivate over the notion of the destruction of the west, only ever have bad things to say about it despite enjoying all of the benefits it provides and living in it; essential identifiers for a left-wing blowhard.

Anyone expecting the US to go anywhere other than a place of more power & dominance doesn’t have a fkign clue.

I’d have to see a quote. Either way he, as usual, is hyperbolising and salivating over the idea of a US decline which simply isn’t going to come anytime soon. They control global culture, are energy independent, have the largest economy in the world and solid demographics for the future.

Much like all of the people that predicted that Trump will end democracy in the US, if he does I’ll announce myself as a complete ignoramus and bow to a poster of Karl Marx.

Rich countries, both economically and culturally have never descended into civil war have they.

I dunno. Suggesting there might be civil unrest, given recent history in the states (Jan 6, BLM, really recently a vigilante killed a senior healthcare executive) seemed not wholly unreasonable. What happened on the thread was certain posters chose to misinterpret what Rosso had posted and extrapolated erroneously to try to land some cheap petty point which, given its strawman inception, didn’t happen.

I do not think that the US will stop being a superpower, but it’s a country that to me looks significantly less of a sure thing now than even 2-3 years ago.

Could see happening? Or expected to see happening? Because they’re different things 👍

We could see Big Ange win the prem next season. Not sure many of us expect it though.

To name a few, the wholesale acceptance of a post-truth media paradigm, ever more extreme political sectarianism, the adoption of an economic Overton Window which doesn’t allow discussion of anything other than some form of wealth-extracting neoliberalism without it being shouted down as ‘communist’, acceptance of (actually, the *choice* of) governance by some of the wealthiest oligarchs ever to live on the surface of the planet, preference for the centralisation and de-democratisation of power, and the establishment of a powerful movement in fervent support of an openly nationalist, xenophobic agenda led by a convicted criminal, raapist and habitual liar, who has allied himself with white supremacists.

If you’re talking about me (again), for the umpteenth time, I said that I *could* foresee “civil conflict” in the coming decades, meaning serious civil unrest.

I categorically did not predict a civil war. If you aren’t going to debate in good faith, I won’t bother engaging any further.

Why? Because of January 6 or BLM?

Who could possibly replace them as top dog? Please don’t say China. Things like BLM and Jan 6 are all smoke and mirrors mate. Stopping the general public from talking about actual policies and indiscretions.

For example, ask the general public what BLM is and they can answer. Ask them what Black Rock, State Street and Vanguard are or even a basic example of what they do and their influence on the US and the world….tumbleweed.

You and I understand what they are, sure. But Joe bloggs won’t.
