America have never really been a colonial power. You can tell Cinci’s been living there too long.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Shall we compare real colonial powers like the UK, France and Spain to the US? Nah, thought not.
Hawaii, Philippines, Panama(which while taking control of the canal they set up independence for Panama from Colombia), Cuba for like three yearsand some tiny little specks in the ocean.
Some say Liberia, but Independence was recognised way back in the 1850s or something while Europe was running rampant for another 100 years on the continent. Liberia was primarily set up for freed African americans incidentally.
If the US were a colonial power they were feckin awful at it

2024 confirmed as the first year beating 1.5 degrees C globally. The last ten years have been the hottest ten years on record.
The most up-to-date models (built on predictions which have already proven to be pretty facking accurate to date) puts us on track for 2.7 degrees C by 2100 *if all existing pledges are met in full*. 2.7 degrees, as a reminder, would be nothing short of catastrophic for the global ecosystem, biodiversity and mankind.
Meanwhile, those existing pledges… are not close to being met. Last year also saw record worldwide CO2 equivalent emissions, again.
it's still too cold, -4 almost. give us more global warming, we need 5 degrees + warmer. more fossil fuel burning pls
Don’t worry though, fellas. I’m sure we’ll have a couple of posters along presently, ready to make claims about sunspots, a global conspiracy involving hundreds of thousands of climate scientists, and/or conceptual carbon capture or similar technology which does not only not exist, but research of which isn’t even being funded.

It’s okay… world leaders will soon hold another conference, agree even better targets and then we can all celebrate their amazing work.
