It’s not even that far fetched if Europe and Ukraine go it alone. Trump sees a Russian alliance as vital to curtail China and selling weapons to them to strengthen the alliance is a Trump thing he’d do.

For the same reason people use iPhones or wear Nikes. It would be great to insulate yourself completely from all things morally bad but like it or not, Twitter is still the ‘best’ place for up to date news and that kind of comment space - and only because so many decent people have stayed to keep it as honest as possible . I wish nothing but the worst for Phony Stark and his wotsit faced chubby puppet but until something better than Twitter comes along (and Bluesky is far from that) it’s the one eyed king in the kingdom of the blind

Plus - it was ours first before Elmo. We shouldn’t let the likes of Mush chase us off a site we’ve spent years building networks of great information providers etc

I wasn’t having a go at you just to clarify - you’re a very good poster 👍

But in theory every social media site - this one included has the power to be ‘bad’. Twitter is of course very toxic but it still is unique in its ability to cover the worlds events as fast as it does and enables people to get information quickly. Now what information is received depends on the algorithm of the user and I’d imagine mine and Arab have a good algorithm where a multitude of responsible and intelligent people push back against the filth of the far right.

Tldr - Twitter for me is only as bad as the algorithm the user creates. If we’re on there fighting the disinformation we’re doing more good than not fighting it whilst boycotting it.

That is of course if the dead internet theory isn’t real
