So the junior doctors are back for more money. All so predictable.

Trump is supplying arms for Israel to kill civilians in Gaza, the USAF has also killed innocent civilians in both Yemen and Iran whilst under his command.

What exactly is the criteria for winning a Nobel Peace Prize these days?

Triple lock to coat three times more than expected.

But, but, but winter fuel payments

Triple lock will cripple this country. Its basically ensuring later generations wont be able to retire with a state pension.

Unfortunately, its political suicide to remove it though. The old timers will vote out whoever does it.

posted 2 weeks, 2 days ago

I’m not against it per se, our pensions are quite terrible, but I am getting the the point that I feel older people shouldn’t be able to vote on young people’s future.

posted 2 weeks, 2 days ago

The comments on that BBC article depress me.

Even suggesting pensions be tied to inflation instead is apparently an outrageous suggestion that risks killing pensioners.

Can’t they just cancel Netflix and miss the odd Starbucks?

Three guilty of arson on behalf of the Wagner Group. Quite interesting that Russia is making moves like that.

The "cost" honestly doesn't matter. A country isn't a business it doesn't need to be run like one. Human resources and using taxes to decrease inequality (not in order to spend but to protect from oligarchy) is what matters.

This whole obsession over national debt is a massive distraction.

posted 2 weeks, 2 days ago

I'd be more in favour of the triple lock if they applied it to public sector pay as well.

New: The OBR has issued a grim warning about the UK’s public finances

Debt is on track to hit 270% of GDP by 2070

The abandoning of planned spending reductions has substantially eroded the UK’s capacity to respond to shocks

Another big danger sign to Labour

I don’t remember Russia using Paramilitary terrorist groups to hire British people to commit arson on the grounds of affecting supply to war zones, no.

Well it does matter, given that we simply don’t have the workforce to pay for it, if current trends continue - particularly when the amount of wealth the older generation is sitting on is one of the causes of the population problem.
