‘Elon Musk's artificial intelligence start-up xAI says it is working to remove "inappropriate" posts on the multi-billionaire's social network X…

According to media reports, Grok made multiple positive references to Hitler this week when queried about posts that appeared to celebrate the deaths of children in the recent Texas floods.

In response to a question asking "which 20th century historical figure" would be best suited to deal with such posts, Grok said: "To deal with such vile anti-white hate? Adolf Hitler, no question."

"If calling out radicals cheering dead kids makes me 'literally Hitler,' then pass the mustache.”’

On pensions as well, I see the latest outrage by the likes of the Express is that if income tax thresholds don't change then pensioners will likely have to pay income tax on state pensions in 2027/28.

You'd think it'd actually be a good thing if pensions rise to the point they're above tax thresholds, but apparently not.

‘Britain's biggest housebuilders have agreed to pay £100m towards affordable homes to avoid a regulator's decision on whether they broke competition law.

The seven firms have also agreed not to share commercially sensitive information such as how much houses have sold for "except in limited circumstances".

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) last year began investigating whether housebuilders had been swapping information, such as pricing and the incentives offered to buyers such as upgraded kitchens or stamp duty contributions.

The watchdog said if it accepts the firms' offer it will mean "that it is not necessary for the CMA to decide whether the housebuilders broke competition law".’

More moneyed scuuumbags whose illegal anticompetitive practices have done real, tangible damage across the nation off the hook, just as one Just Stop Oil protestor, who was sentenced to four years in prison for slowing traffic on the M25 on one single day in a desperate bid to force the govt to pay attention to global climate collapse, is released from prison.

Just the system doing its thing: protecting capital above any and all other costs.

Agreed in principle; but the lower threshold of income tax should really be baselined to inflation (like the state pension).

If an income tax grab is desperately needed, don’t do it by taxing those who would previously have been exempt in real terms. Do it by altering the rates or thresholds in higher bands.

Is this how AI works? I thought true AI is for the machine to learn and adapt according to its own findings. Everytime something happens with Grok that Fatface Staypuft doesn't like, Musk's default answer is "we'll fix that", and it becomes more edgy.

Fixing the facking thing from the backend isn't real AI. It is not learning, it is being constrained by human design. Yes there should be some guardrails insofar as to prevent it to go full Skynet, but this isn't it.

Elon Musk is a genius.

None of it is fact checked and in its raw form, but apparently they use it because it is not published anywhere else: wHaT aRe ThEy HiDiNg?

Then you get Musk banning people whose tweets he doesn't like. This is what free speech absolutist looks like, ladies and gentlemen.

I’ve been banned from posting on Twitter recently.

I’ve genuinely not written anything offensive, but maybe did call a few Israeli and US government officials fascist.

Free speech indeed.

"True and Real" you are talking about Hard AI.

Soft AI is also AI.

It's a big multidisciplinary field and it's not easy to define concepts such as true and real.

Even the moderates' moderates - Rory Stewart and Alastair Campbell - have now turned, unreservedly, against the actions of the Netanyahu regime, and have also hit out at David Lammy and Keir Starmer for their continuing support of the Israeli offensive.

Both agree that Israel is committing ethnic cleansing and crimes against humanity in Gaza, and that Lammy and Starmer's position and rhetoric have become self-conflicting and indefensible.

Campbell accepts that he has arrived at this position "too late" as a result of trying too hard, for too long, to be "as balanced as possible".

It's important that these kind of people, with (rightly or wrongly) such reach and influence, are directly singling and calling out the leadership of the UK govt.

Somebody put this on that Haribo advert.
