seriously, who is to say that rangers haven't done the smart thing for once and said
"look, we're f...ed. We have spent money on some amount of schite and we don't have a lot to spend but we can give you a budget of 8-10 million and we need you to improve the squad and our performances"
Who is to say gerrard might not relish that challenge?
Smid
Do you think if Stevie doesn't take it, the Rangers website will have a wee dig at him, the way they did with Derek?

It's not beyond the realms of possibility Rangers will find investment, what the demands of the investors are is another matter. They hold all the cards, these are not stupid people.
There is potential to make money on your investment, of course there is, there are assets to invest against.
Playing staff have worth, the stadium has worth, any land Rangers own, Auchenhowie.
Of course investors might be interested, its the assurances against their investment that will seal the deal or not.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe just maybe they see I vestment as a 3year+ return. Invest heavily with ambition to win league and get to CL group stages. That brings its own rewards in term of guaranteed £30m from CL plus the knock-one from increased advertising and sponsorship...

JFK - very possible - he may also have been told that, whatever happens, there's a place for him at Liverpool
The resignations of Murray and Scott seem to be passing by with no real reason why they’ve done that. I thought they were more allied with King, and I’m surprised that Murray would walk if he thought that the club were on the verge of something big. Scott, from what I gather, is the front man for the loans from the Hong Kong folk, and wasn’t long on the board. It looks like they’re leaving King on his own in the boardroom, so something may be happening. But I doubt much can happen until King sorts out his issues with the TOP and gets his offer to buy shares out the way.

Correct and will only be manager if the Board / King agree to all of his demands. He's not going to risk his well earned reputation in world football on a verbal agreement of funding.

Exactly Smid, but whether its right or wrong Rangers might just agree given the gravitas of this 10 in a row.
Madness if you are honest, no sane business would run itself with its top mandate being stop 10 in a row, but that as I said right or wrong seems to be the Ibrox mantra.
Neither Celtic or Rangers IMO will ever get close to 10 again, Celtic have put themselves in a position where its theirs to grab if they act accordingly, manager is in place, squad is healthy, funds in place, never a better chance.
Rangers know this, the fans on both sides know this, its daft, I repeat madness but it is what the Ibrox board are above all aiming to stop. They may sell the club down the river in an attempt to do just that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I honestly think 10 is arbitary, nice to celebrate but our focus must be on remaining the dominant club in Scottish football history.

I don't think they would Lex. See the 10 in a row thing, I could be way off but I genuinely believe that is more important to Celtic than Rangers. Any Rangers fans I know pretty much know that it is inevitable and after everything that has happened and how difficult a road it has been there is an acceptance that it is more important to build the club back up than throw cash at stopping Celtic within a couple of years.
I also think if stopping 10 in a row was the aim they wouldn't be going for Gerrard as boss, they would be throwing money at an established top Manager and promising him a lot of money to spend. Rangers have been pretty clear in their blueprint long term and from that perspective Gerrard ticks a lot of boxes. I don't think there is a danger of doing anything to harm the club just to stop 10 in a row.

Your chairman said it was important to stop ten in a row.
I personally think Celtic are looking at twelve thirteen in a row.
