I think Gerrard was as good as Xavi and iniesta, but they’re midfielders so goals are a totally different argument. Hazard and Salah are both forwards

Gerrard was a great player, but he can't hold a candle to Iniesta and Xavi.

Why not? Gerrard couldn’t pass the ball like Xavi could, but Xavi couldn’t score some of the amazing goals like Gerrard could. They’re equally great IMO, just different players.

We were having this same debate last night here between Coutinho, Salah and Hazard. And the conclusion we reached is that Hazard has had the extremely bad luck of being coached by super defensive Mourinho and Conte and some terrible Chelsea coaches. Salah looked pants for Mourinho's Chelsea remember. Salah, Mane and Coutinho have played under Klopp, who plays expansive attacking football geared towards his fast forwards.

If Hazard had played for Liverpool last season, we all thought he would probably have been every bit as good as Salah, De Bruyne, Mane etc.

Football is about opinions. But in the end, Hazard has two League titles a Europa Cup, a League cup and FA cup winners medals. Had Chelsea invested in better managers, players and tactics, who knows?

But do you think he difference in the coaches makes up for Hazard scoring 17 vs Salah scoring 44? Also the salah at Chelsea was nowhere near the current Salah at Liverpool.

For me Hazard isn’t ruthless. Even if he played at Liverpool, he wouldn’t be driven to score as many as he could or as many as Salah does. It’s his mentality, and it’s a big reason why Salah, and also the likes of Neymar, Messi and CR7 are better.

Salad, by a considerable distance, its not up for debate.

I still think Hazard has that something that very few players have. Salah should have been a great hit at Chelsea. In the end, certain coaches can make that much of a difference. Liverpool were a fabulous attacking force last season and scored a lot of goals. Chelsea played boring, defensive counter attacking football which left Hazard isolated 2 or 3 on 1 and carrying the ball 40 yards before getting to the goal. Salah received the ball much quicker and closer to the goal and played more as a striker in many games. I'm not belittling his achievement but it's not the same. I hope that Chelsea either get an attacking coach or Hazard moves to an attacking team - he's been wasted 5 years at Stamford Bridge and I do not dislike Chelsea!

I am a season ticket holder at the Bridge and I would say this is quite accurate. Players like Hazard should be used as forwards, not up and down wide midfield players. He is wasted in our terribly defensive teams.

Hazard may improve under a more attacking manager, however I am certain that the guy will never be a Neymar or a Ronaldo? He doesn’t have that same thirst for goals. When Hazard scores 1, he thinks “great, I can ease off now, I’ve scored”. When Neymar or Ronaldo score 1 they think “I want 2,3 or 4”.
